On a bad ass weekend. Well first off I was a little let down that my fellow mates didn't want to come. But after the time I had I didn't really care! Nate and I headed over about 1030 Friday. 2hrs later we hit Sarasota and man it felt good. Old Florida!! Motel City! We ate lunch Loaded the cooler up and checked in. The Motel was a old 50's Motel with fresh paint, landscape to kill and a 9ft deep pool! This was it. we spent all afternoon sunning our Selves by the pool!! Then 430 hit and we had to hit the Tiki Bar!! WOW what a big fucking let down. Old men and the only thing tiki in it was the aged bartenders shirt and a painting on the wall!! 4 beers and the 2 mai tais later we fell out of the bar and stumbled to the room ordered pizza and passed out!! Saturday well was something else. We spent 1 1/2 hours trying to get served breakfast at a mom and pop joint! then made it to the pool again. had some beers and our lokes Nads, Dave Kenny and Tim arrived on the scene with Bottle beers at the pool. breakin all the rules like the Rumblers they are!! after trying to beat our room money out of them we headed to the dreaded car show!! Lets just say it wasn't no class A production! With our 2 cars it made 7 rides and about 5 bikes! Good people for sure but shit man what is it about the west coasters(florida's west coast) that cant draw a crowd with a marker!...After some cold ones and some good laughs we had to get out. the music was bouncing off the walls and sounded like well it was rough to listen to(not the bands fault I'm sure).....We made it back to the room after another beer stop! got changed and hit the best little sea food joint(only one open at 830pm) ate and laughed and made fun!! Like the big kids we are!! then again the check came and we attempted to gain our room money from the boys.....they acted like we were trying to cheat them...So Nads paid up but the other two never came off a cracker!......No Harm! we headed back to the tiki bar watched Nads sleep on the bar and we had our Mai Tai's and hit the pool again......fallen down good fun!!! Sunday I was up and Out Nate and I were home by noon!! GREAT TIME!! mates you were all missed
Sounds like a gay, old time. Seriously wish I was there. I worked all weekend to try to make some money to pay my fuel bill. At this rate, I'm going to need to either start dealing drugs or hookin... I wonder which would be more profitable???
i think a better question is.. what would be more pleasurable?? getting doped up, or sexed up?? maybe both??
Sounds like nothing has changed since I left after being there 35 years. You must have stayed at the Bai Hai Hut - known for their MaiTai's (that is the place that ruined me on drinking rum). Labor Day weekend is alway the slowest weekend of the year in that town. The only sound is the pace makers quiet hum. It's a shame the show sucked, but the local "chainers" were probably out of town or didnt hear about it. We used to go to the cruze nights and not much but muscle cars in that town. Wills Honky Tonk down on Swift Rd. would be a good place to have some fun, if you dont mind bikers.
It was good to see you guys. However, due to my car's pathetic state, and my need to leave early, I was by far the lamest person there. Well, next to Tim & Jon anyway. Thank God Nate lives close by & we can claim to be cool by association.
Fuck me, that was indeed a wild time. After we split from you Dobbins we went to The Sarasota Classic Car Museum, or something like that. It was amazing, no lie, worth every penny of $4.25 it cost to get in. I got to see The Pink Panther mobile in real life, virtually every year Iso Rivolta ever made, Packards, Cadillacs, Duesenbergs. Fuck there was a lot of shit there, y'all have to go, it's a must visit. Plus they have the most incredible collection of vintage arcade games I've ever seen. It totally made up for the lack of cars at the alleged "car show." What the hell I had a blast anyway. I love the West Coast of Florida, it's so much nicer than the East.
