  1. Qustions about your A?
<HR style="COLOR: #999999" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and ***le --><!-- message -->Building a car much the same as yours and I have a few qustions I would like to ask you.First how wide is your rear end?? second Your rear cross member, how far is it from the back of the body? and how far is this cross member from the center line of the rear axle? One last qustion, what is the wheel base of the car?Great stuff by the way.We are building the Hambandy car much along the same lines as yours,we have a 4 inch kick up in the back and using a spring behind the rearend,Need to know what room we have to do this.Seems your car will tell us what we need to know. thanks

    Here are the answers.
The rear axle is 59 1/2" flange to flange and is a 8.8 from a 1991 Ford Exloder. The rear crossmember is 8 1/4" from the body, the center of the axle to the front of the crossmember is 6", and the crossmember is 2x3 tubing on its side (3 " wide, 2" high), the kick up is 4" and the wheelbase is 110 3/4". If you have more question please ask!

I first would like to say Very nice car and thanks for all the pics. i am a visual learner im sure like most of us in here. I am also building an A just like yours and like to build it in my head before i actually do it. and alot of the pics helped with my questions i will keep you in mind if i have any more. thanks.

  5. Here are some videos I took today of me driving the Model A for the first time. I have alot of build pictures that I can post if you want to see something on the car. Turn you sound up all the way, it's hard to hear. I wanted to take more footage but it was about -14 degrees at the time we took it.

Save the family history! I have several buddies that didn't hang onto the rod from Mom & Pop, now they're sorry.
Drive the heck outta that old A-bone & then p*** it onto the kids.

That IS very close to the HAMBandy build Fitzee!
If it turns out as cool as Inlaws A...we'll have done good.
    NICE car!
(Don't be surprised if we ask for a little info on something now and then...and thanks for the help already! ;))

    Uh-oh,
David's got that H.A.M.B.ers look on his face, you gotta be proud of that one.

  16. I got the car wired today, and I got the windshield back from getting gl*** installed on friday, so now I am legal. I took it down the road today, even though it is only 6 degrees. It drives pretty well for not be aligned. I wish I had someone to film me driving. I will have to settle for these icy parking lot donuts for now.

  18. It's been a while since I updated this, so here are some pictures. The first one is how we found it. We have been driving the hell out if it. We have had it to Back to the 50's in St. Paul, and the Iola old car show, plus some local events. This weekend my in-laws we at our house and the got to see it in person for the first time since we dug it out of the woods in May 2007. I had them stand next to it to take some pictures and then I had them sit in it. I offered the keys to Don, my father in-law, and he ******ed them out of my hand and took of for a ride. He had a **** eating grin on his face! My mother-in-law on the other hand looked frightened and wanted a seat belt. on of the comments I heard was that the back seat looked smaller and they probably would be able to have any *** in it.
