I've been following your build off and on. You are a true innnovator and make due with whatever is available. You got to get some heat in there though or you will wind up stiff and lame in you later years....Like me.

well, im a member of the local antique car club (someone has to drag down the average age right?) so we have a club shop we can use for free a few months a year or whatever, and i tok my a down there for some advise (had no spark) and we finally came with the conclusion that the coil was singing it's last tune and it's now dead as a rock.. so im standing here then...
That shop looks like an improvement over your shed (as nice as it is), warmer for sure. Now that you've got heated space, whats next for the build Kjell? Windshield and a canvas top would look sweet.
i want this: but im not sure.. i do have the 33 roadster windsheild.. but i think the car will be to tall with it on.. but the next would be to get the hood ready and get it on there after that its probably to gett some winter tires... and have some fun before the MOT..
Another headache you will have with that Ign. will be the modern points setup and plates. I went back to stock setup and it stopped most of my problems. That and I had to cold of plugs for the running I was doing so things were loading up and causing a misfire . I didn't figure it out, it was the old timers (I'm 69) that straightened me out.

Great thread Kjell- I think all of us are reading this with a big ole grin . This brings back memories and feelings of that long ago first build and all the excitement that goes with it. I really appreciate your resourcefulness which gives your ride an interesting twist and flavor all it's own! I also appreciate your taste for a traditional build. Keep up the great work! Matt

THERE WAS SUNSHINE OUTSIDE TODAY! But the plan for today was to change the oil.. so thats what i did.. I found out that my suspision about a bad headgasket was real.. haha.. ] Thats not suposed to be gray.. well, luckely i do have a spare gasket
Unless I am missing something here, on a flathead, the coolant has to get by the piston to get to the oil. Do you have a sparkplug that is clean from the coolant leaking into a cylinder? Oil can get that color from condensation. From my experience, blowing coolant out of the radiator while motor is under load, washed-clean sparkplug, or two adjacent cylinders with low compression have indicated bad head gaskets. Neal
