    That is my beefed up shay I cut the front off an dropped it I boxed in the frame put a 8.8" rear axle on with 3.73 gears and now I'v got my flathead done and on its way in

    The only stock parts on the engine is the oil pan and filter and the heads everything else is new all the way down to the valve seats

  8. Interesting project, the engine is very cool, I'm watching. Looks like I'll be moving to Wisconsin sometime this year.

    As far as the shay parts go there is not much left from it the rear end is from a mustang the framework is boxed and lowered and after the engine is in I will be working on interior and paint I would like to rewire one day to and I put a new clutch in

    The shay itself needless to say the craftmenship was shotty to say the least

    what ever became of this project? I was looking at a few Shays on Craigslist tonight wondering if anyone had ever tried to alter one.
