    This looks serious........... Nice!

  2. Nice looking bunch of parts you have there !!! Good luck !!! >>>>.

  3. Thanks Steve... I may not be as fast as the other cars competing for the "Yay-Hoo" cup... but I plan on having fun contending for it!

I'm looking forward to one season of fine tuning the car AND my driving skills... kind of like "Littleman" and his truck.

Fortunately there's a "Caveat" in the rulebook that'll allow me to "Bolt" the cage onto a Full Framed car... where as before I've always read that it "Must" be welded which was reinforced by the Track Inspector at "Great Lakes Dragway". He inspects the Funny Cars and Rails and expects those standards.

The Inspector found the verbage after my insisting... the phrase that pays was on page 262 of the NHRA rulebook and now he's excited to see what I come up with so he can see my car p*** tech and actually RACE.

Again my whole premise was to build a car on a budget that runs 10 anything in the quarter and is truely streetable with somewhat decent fuel economy.

I think I might have it!!!!

Actually thinking of an "Olds" quad 4...!

I was curious if you were going to bolt in or weld in the cage. It's good to know you can bolt it in. The ch***is builder doing the cage in my truck said he could make my rear bars bolt in and p*** tech. From what I have always read they had to be welded in. That's good to know.

  7. Worth buying your own Rulebook and not listening to one single inspector/track.

  8. Precisely..!

However... You HAVE to join the NHRA before you can get the book But "Thank God" for the HAMB.... I received a copy of the rulebook from a fellow HAMB'r... C. Fergin!

  9. That Fergen guy is a beady eyed skinflint.;) Bet he kept the good pages?

whether racing or pulling tractors, I have always viewed the rulebook as my guide to how to cheat without getting caught. Remember, there are two kinds of racers/pullers...Losers and Cheaters! Hmmm...two Milwaukee area car clubs by the same names

  11. Yeah... that's the Guy...!!!! Hahaha...

Thanks for the great comments guys!

I'm very excited about this engine and would like to get this thing in the car before the "Hunnert Car Pile Up"!!!

I love the fact that this car is "Olds" powered and that I got this put together for a fraction of the cost of other engines producing the same amount of horsepower and much less torque!

    Heres my engine guys company...

  19. Thanks...! I love your Model A!

Triangulated four bar with QA-1 Coil overs...

Here's a shot of the rear suspension and of the cage I got from Mike Britton.

I'm probably going to s**** most of it but maintain the upper hoops.

Kick *** indeed! Hows about the rest of the drive line? Stick? (the clutch gonna hold that stuff?) ******glide/autotragic?
Oh, & if it IS a stick, hows about that rear end back there? Shock loading can take it's toll haha:D
Get to work! The cup has room for more names yet;)

Autotragic with Overdrive it be... and the strength of it... we have to see!

I ran the Turbo 400 from an idle... and I'll run the 700R the same way because I don't think the quickchange would handle Shock with slicks and a bit more hp.!!!!!

I'm surprised your diff lasted as long as it did with those powerful launches and wheelies!

I love the Cal Custom 40-40 scoops on dual quad engines... but "holy ****" they refuse to breath!!!

Since you have Serious HP in your car... Have you dynoed your engine with the oold Scoop and aircleaner?

I'm curious what the difference would be on the dyno between the different scoops, Velocity stacks, and air cleaners...??????????

Well, I see you are running a QC rear so the auto makes sense.(no shock loading)
That dyno session was the only one, but hp & torque were climbing like mad even though we lifted @ 5800rpm (w/o the 40/40 cal-customs, it was 477 hp, 429 torque)
Now that the new fuel pump is on (& it was @ the HAMB drags) who knows. I feel confident that it is over 500hp @ the wheels @ 7000rpm:)
Keep up the nice work w/ the roadster, & don't forget the roll bar!

hate to say it but i see a new trans in your near future. 700S are pretty much small block only, at least thats been my experience over and over and oh yes over again...

  24. I had those concerns as well... however Shifts on the HAMB (Dave) owns Midtown Transmissions emphatically dissagrees and is willing to stand behind his work which is all I need!

Apparently he has a bunch of them behind 600+ h.p. cars and trucks that are still running strong and many of them are on the HAMB!

Plus the fact my car doesn't even come close to those "monsters" in weight or traction should help immensly...!;)

I saw a car just like your today at the Beloit Autorama. Couldn't have been you, though, as I left my card and nobody called/looked me up. Must have been somebody trying to mimic you

  26. That sounds like a wicked set up Mark. Damn. I soiled my BVD's just reading about it!:eek::D.
Does the T-6 in your Avatar have any signifigance?
