Not much progress to be seen really. I've been held up by bad weather and a slow machinist. I'm gonna try and get the body back off this weekend and start getting the chassis ready for paint. Still hoping to have this thing on the road in time to make the spring rod run in pigeon forge.
Well now that the snow is gone and the flood water has drained from my garage I was able to get a little work done on the car. I finally got all the peices of the hemi back from the machine shop and assembled Also got some paint on the frame and dash
Oh wow!!!Love the dash, and the hemi's not too bad eitherGonna be a real nice Hot Rod!!!Did you end up boxing the frame? Please keep the updates coming
Thanks. I like the old buick dash alot, and it was a near perfect fit! Yes I boxed the frame. Way to much weight not to.
Nice looking build. I hope you don't give in to the fender haters. It's refreshing to see set on a real hot rod. Frank
Oh, I'm liking this one. I've been pondering fenders or no fenders and you make a good case for fenders with that car. Love the way the Buick dash looks when you painted it up.
Thanks for the kind words. The fenders are definatly going to stay. The red paint is HOK candy branywine
Nice ride, its good to see fenders once in a while. I am looking @ this on my phone but, isn't that dash a Pontiac? I had one in my Chevy that looked just like it but had the chief at the top where the wings are in the center plate. Just curious if buick and pontiac used the same dash???
All the trim on the dash is buick, even has a buick insignia in the clock hole in glove box door, but I've also seen a pontiac dash that was very similar, could well have been identical. This one was froma 1935 series forty buick
Well I've made a little more progress in the last couple of weeks. It's a roller again and the engine, trans and most of the plumbing are in.
Thanks! I hope to get the body back on it in the next few weeks. I want to ride this thing some this summer
