Back from the DragStrip. The new combo ran low 11.30's out of the box w/ no tuning done at all.......The MPH is down from 120 to high 113's.........Their is much room for improvement...Hope to hit the track again this weekend for some tuning and tweeking.....I just might bolt on my 94 Drag carbs I have been doing since it is so close to the end of the Drag Racing season here in Ohio...I do not have too much time......Basically tonight I wanted to blast it down the track....so I can do a leak down test w/ hopes of getting better results than the last combo, once it passes this test then it's on......Littleman

We will know if we have any damage after the leak down tonight.........60' are way off from what they were......It has hit 1.47-1.51 in the past.....last night it was 1.59......I have alot of tuning to do.....It needs more fuel for one and squirt adjustment.........Littleman

What started out as just a simple jet change.......kinda got derailed........next thing I know I found myself swapping out the throttle bases off the carbs I have run from day one and mated them and other parts to the new Drag 94 carb bodies I have been working on for awhile.......I figured if I am chasing my tail tuning.......I should make it count and work w/ what I want to run in the end...........took awhile........I will pop it off mid morning...could be trouble, but they should move allot more air.......Littleman

This is something else man. I truly admire the heart and effort you have put forth in making your truck run. Many others, myself included, would've thrown in the towel many moons ago. I applaude you and your efforts.

Great setup, the AN fittings make it look so JEG's to me though. But I know they have a purpose.

i saw some black ones in the last summit catalog, I know money is money, But they might take away from the "jegs" look of it

other than that the motor is fucking awsome looking and preforming i assume

Just back from the DragStrip.......The new machined carbs clicked off a 11.09 @ 118.96, so basically it ran the same as yesterday as my old carbs........I was real happy to get this set of new carbs up to speed so quick........The plugs are screamin for more fuel, so the carbs show allot of promise...I really expected the whole setup to slow down, but I nailed the sycronizing and setup first time...pretty neat to take swapmeet junk carbs and breath new life into them...........Time to unload and change some jets along w/ a few other things.....and get the nitrous bottle filled this week..................Littleman

Good to see you out their Dave, from the Piston's !

Hi Dave, do you have a fuel pressure guage you can see from the drivers seat? The mph says she's may be laying down on the big end a bit. You will definately need a gauge you can see from the drivers seat before you spray it.

The carbs looks insane, breakin in it to the nines on spray is coming.

Like I told you at the track, I heard you coming, the truck has a very unique sound, I bet that red roadster did not expect you to pace him all the way!!!:D

PS......... It's fuel pump time for me, when pump gets hot I drop to 3lbs pressure
    , plugs were snow white:eek:

Can't wait to see what that new combo will run! Give'm hell Dave!

BTW - Would you recommend the Hyd roller thumper cam for a street/strip set up?
If so, with aluminum heads or the old 2.02 camel humps?

Brewton, I ran the Big Muther thumper Hyd. roller last year and it performed very well.many witnessed it's performance..It's a great street/strip crossover stick.....yes it's designed to sound nasty on the street, but it performs rather well......good street grind that performed on the track as well......It will work with either the aluminum or camel hump 2.02's.......if you already have the camel humps, I would run them and just port them and the intake to the intake gasket and go...........Littleman

Just back from the Thompson Gasser Meet........I did not get a chance to hit the nitrous.....my plans to do that went South this past Friday....I had planned to get the Nitrous bottle filled Friday after work then go home and hook up the truck and pack up for Sat.& Sunday...but when I jumped into my Daily Driver/tow vehicle...it had other plans for me...It would not turn over.....not the battery not the starter but one of those god forsaken have to take it to the dealer electronic problems.....they tell me my fuse panel in my 04 Ford f-150 is corroded badly.....got me how that could happen w/ no visible leaks, I even went in and looked at it myself.......So I did not get out to the Track until today''Thanks to fellow Slick Devil member Stan'' Thanks for dropping off your Truck so I could go today !!! I really needed a full day and some of tuning and tweeking before I hit the button.......Today they really moved the race program quickly..I was able to make two time runs then had to race.............The best the Truck did today was 10.97 @121.39 mph, finally back into the tens.....I only had time to change jets once and it needs it again.....So the new Carbs are going in the right direction...The Truck ran really well...........Littleman
