Just back from The DragStrip tonight....I did alot of carb work and jet changing to race at the Norwalk Goodguys event and was not able to go and try out the changes on a fully prepped track...and was upset I could not make it...no big deal because the Thompson Gasser deal was a few weeks away....well that was a total wash out......So I heard that they were going to run the UMTR cars at Thompson today and knew they would really prep the track well for them for they are a group of wicked 4 speed cars and a large in #'s group which was great to see.......They also were going to allow test and tune for others....before my changes the Truck seemed to be stuck running in the 11.40's for the most part w/ a best run of 11.33 to this date..............first pass tonight was an 11.07 then a 11.08,11.10, a 11.06 and as the sun went down so did the temp...last pass was a 11.03......so the carb work and choices made and the new fabbed up headers really helped out, I am super happy with its performance tonight.....and the big gains found.........six two's rule.......Littleman

Its going thru the traps @ 6,300 rpms, the cam stops making power at 6,200 rpms.......its not a full on drag cam, I still drive it on the street, all thou I have been told to take it home the last few times by the local authority..........It needs a cam shaft change, a real drag race stick........still lots of room to improve.....Littleman

If you do not squeeze them for all they have to offer........then it may be a streetrod....tweekin for performance makes a HotRod a HotRod.............but may drive you mad in the process!!!!!!.............he he he....or atleast thats how I look at it...........Littleman

This weekend was a total Blast, Thanks To The Jalopy Showdown Drags in BeaverSprings Pa. on Saturday and the Thompson Gasser meet today, Sunday........I was having Transmission problems at The Showdown but still ran strong.......So we woke up this morning and beat feet the 5 1/2 hours back home to Thompson DragStrip where they were having the makeup Gasser meet due to rain out...Figured this weekend was the last race weekend for the season....so I was planning on finishing off the ailing Tranny at Thompson....We could only run 1/8 mile at the showdown and today was 1/4 mile at Thompson...and instead of the trans breaking...The Truck clicked off its fastest 1/4 mile times to date,10.89 @ 120.35.....I made five passes total ..all in the high tens.......I could not be any happier its a great way to end the year....if you tune ..it will scoot!!!........Littleman

Hey Littleman, love the TRUCK. If its going faster in the cold then its probably a little on the fat side..... next time you run in warm weather jet it down and youll get back the cold weather E.T.s. Also Collectors on the headers will make the motor pull harder through the carbs. (just some info)

This is a page from Burns....... Its good stuff.
By the way, I love your headers..... Im not knocking them. Just figured your trying to go fast, and thought you could pick up a little power with a different header design.

Again, I love your truck...... all your cars really!!! Nothing cooler than a street driven 10 second car/truck.

I do understand about the collectors and their gains......I designed the headers for slip on's......The tubes have the correct spacing and I can cut off the bell tips w/ the chop saw and slide them on to get more scavenge affect.....I have taken alot of fuel away from it this go around...and I have heavily modified the squirters....... I always jet different for the heat and cooler temps.........Thanks for the info and website.......we all should always be looking for more info...Those headers really where just an experiment and made quickly, I need to build a real set with a larger dia. next and at this rate will need a ful cage for the Truck............Littleman

  26. Congrats on that 10 second pass, I hope you gave the dash a couple love taps for running so good.

I could never take that The wrong way..........People that think they know it all.....tend too...................and let me tell you I still have way much to learn and plenty of screw ups to come...Like I always say''I have no idea what I am doing, I just do it...be it right or wrong''.........Littleman...........being open to constructive criticism can potentially make you better...wearing horse blinders..not so much...............
