don't give up hope ever! my friend Eric was in a similar wreck,drove a TR4 up under a flatbed,and sustained what sounds like similar injuries.he pulled through just fine,hang in there kiddo-george

Go Mom! It's so cool to prove doctors wrong.

Just keep talking to her and encouraging her, it's tough, but after a while the hospital crap fades into the background.

When my g'father was in CICU, I would put the date and time on a dry erase board were he could see it, I put the date and the time I was coming back (visiting hours) That way he had plans to do something, he said it helped.

Terribly sorry that the accident happened but congratulations on having such a hard headed mom and Kudos for making all the right decisions for her recovery. With these kind of injuries, how she reacted in the first couple days usually set the tone for the rest of her recovery. So she's winning the war.
