Being a HUGE El Mirage fan, Ryan/Rons thread on "El Mirage in color 1947" got my attention. So I looked at Rons link to his website and being local I went to look him up only to find out his address was a PO Box? So I made a call to Ron, not knowing me from Adam, Ron and his lovely wife Sonia invited me to there home were we spent a few hours going through his pictures of everything from Bonneville to never before seen pics of Ed Roth and a story to go with each and every one. In his collection he probably has (no exaggeration) millions of rare never before seen photos from the 40-50's. Whats even better most of them in color which puts those old pictures in another perspective! AMAZING! Not only does Ron have an amazing collection of old photos but cars and parts. I had taken my camera but did not feel comfortable asking to take pics. Thanks for your time Ron and Sonia, I had fun, Lance http://kelloggautoarchives.com/contact.html
That's really cool. I was have cherished the opportunity to go through those pics and talk to him about them. Ron as well as the images that he occupies are real treasures.
Alot of the pics were not for sale (his personal collection) and another thing is that he has the negatives for most of the pics. His images have been ripped off and duplicated without his permission so he is very cautious who gets what.
I would be carefull too, with all the fancy internet stuff nowadays its hard to show off art and keep it safe. I just noticed on his website yesterday you could buy prints, needless to say I found a few I liked.
