Here's my 4"x15" American Racing LeMANS magnesium wheels (with 40+ years of oxidation ): NOTE: I plan run them on the "HEMI32" coupe again.
I had a 57 when I was 18 to 21, factory two four's, 4 speed. black silver coves and red interior, hardtop had black vinyl on it. Was fast as hell ran out of RPN's at 100 mph with a 4:11 rear end. Surprised I never killed myself in that car with skinny tires it got pretty loose at times. Great memories though.
Well, since this has turned into mostly a Lemans thread I'll try to tie it back into old Corvettes. Here's the Lemans fronts that are patiently waiting to be put on my 61 Corvette once it gets it's turn in the shop. I don't have any wide Lemans for the rear so I'll just have to settle on using some 4 hole Palamedes out back.
I agree! When I was eight or nine, my buddy on the next street called and said his uncle was coming over in his’56 Vette, it was maybe three years old. I rode my bike around the block to see it, white with a hardtop, www pie crusts, stick shift, tach. When he left, Danny told him to “get on it” He said no, but we had this really nice two lane blacktop right there, and I suppose it was too tempting; I got to hear my first really hot 301! What a time to grow up in!
