Definitely looks a million times better with the new wheel/tire choice. Black steelies/dog dishes make everything look better.
Well, looks like the consensus is to leave the car alone. My natural desire is to cut it up, but I probably hold off for a while. Someone mentioned the cowl lights earlier, I was going to remove them but they actually serve as working signal lights! Nifty.
another vote for not changing anything major, stance and roof line are perfect If you want a chopped top, I would respectfully suggest to find a car that deserves it, in my opinion this one does not, and unchopped tops are going to be the minority soon, and probably more desirable because of it befor to much longer.
I say leave it. and I like to fuck with everything! that car is rad! I want to drive it. For a change maybe some cream colored wheels. but i really like the black ones. fuck it just leave it alone. it rules
Nope just weird flash lighting or something. The whole interior is brown and cream, even the door panels. Your avatar makes me want to chop the thing!
I'd chop it, 3". That's all. Leave the rest and then it becomes "your car" instead of "that guy's car" you traded with. The negative responses about the chop could be rooted in all the over-chopped A cpes you usually see. I think 3" is a perfect chop for a full fendered car with a great stance. "Photochop" it and you'll see what I mean.
One of the toughest parts of owning a modified vehicle is knowing when to leave it alone and calling it done........................your there!!! Frank
Hi, I like it as is. Don't change anything. It's well in balance now. If you want different style, get another one that's not ready yet.
Absolutely love the Model A. I think it looks really nice as it is although if it were mine I would do two things. Cut the rear fenders off so they are almost up to the body on the rear. Way too long hanging down there. I have seen a real nice treatment on a model A where the fenders were about 3 " longer than the bottom of the body and a small 2' wide rolled pan was added between them. Gave a really nice finished look to the back of the car. Then I'd do a 3" chop. As stated earlier, that would make it yours and pretty much perfect.
I wouldn't touch. If you want to cut something up, leave that one alone and go buy a rough $1000 car, cut it up and build another car.
Indeed...the trade came out of nowhere, sometimes the best things do. Does your roadster have a lucky new owner yet? As for those who mentioned bobbing the rear fenders, that has been a thought. I'm going to take some good pictures and try to use my limited Photoshop skills to test the waters and see how everything looks. I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the fenders on, maybe a chop way down the road. Also, I have a very nice, complete '40 rearend that I wanted to throw up on the bench, flip the bells around so the spring is in front, and get a Spadaro quickchange. The rear is so visible, it'd be nice to have something cool to look at back there. Thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and kind words...
