1967 283 block, and most likely has a 1.82 first gear Powerglide. It has the "better" design dampener. Parts shopping time on that auction site we all know and love. Butch/56sedandelivery.

283 and 327s have my heart. Mine is a 66 283 bored 4" (needs to be tested first) with a 327 crank and camel heads. 3x2 on top and she screams!

Cylinder heads are "B" on the chart. Narrow triangle over rectangle c/n 520, 896, 1958 and up 283 Power Pak and 1957-'60 FI. 9.25:1 CR, 1.72" x 1.50" valves, 59cc nominal chamber volume.

As soon as we get some stuff unpacked we will see if I still have all of my 283 stuff. I had an Edelbrock intake and a shorty water pump, just need to find them.

Just cranked my 283 up for the first time yesterday....75 lb oil pressure, 190 on the temp, had no real problems....had a carb fire on the very first crank, but it went out quickly. Small 700R trans leak at the filler pipe, was in a bind...okay now....need to brace off the alternator a little more though.

Engine sounded real nice...like its going to run just fine....bored 60 over, Z28 58cc 601 bigger valve heads, 327-300 cam, quadrajet, HEI dist, flat top pistons....yep...high test motor.

It reminded me of my 327-350HP motor in my vette...it turns quickly...about 2400 rpm was my max yesterday on break-in.

The car goes forward and reverse....yeh!! I did run over my 85 year old mechanics foot though....going to check on him today.
