Hummmmm.... LOTS of talk about this car now that it's chopped, and not more than 6 words about it before the chop had been considered. Know why? Because NOW it's, I believe the comment was, "Automotive Porn", and before it was stock. Stock is boring. There are plenty of stock examples out there for the closet restorers and the timid.

The drivability comments are null. I find that most of the people who complain about driving such a car on the street have NEVER done it. Take it from me, I have, and there is not much difference. You don't need to see the tops of buildings and flagpoles when you drive, and no matter what you think about it, you can still see the stop lights.

Looks great D ROD. You've made all the right calls.

Buncha cry babies! Nice chop. I like it. even the pros say grab an origanal unmolested car to start. you spend less time fixing other peoples projects other wise. Your windshield looks like what my rear view is in my 35 p up! Chop on brother!

I like the chop, pretty radical and the metalwork looks good too which is just as important in my book. I like the fact that it is flathead powered too.

D-rod, we spend most of our time building the hot rods we love and not much on the hamb but when i saw the picture of your hot rod when you replied to our bonneville trip post i had to look at this thread.
That is one badass hot rod coupe . You have a standing invitation to run with us to the salt or anywhere else we go. That little bitch screams " hot rod " !!!!!!!!!!!

When I think of Bonneville or EL Mirage this is EXACTLY what I think of. One hell of a car, build, and craftsmanship. It's unfortunate that some don't realize this is a hot rod/traditional website not Ford Barn.

after we chopped my first 34.... (which was a wreck, so NO one felt badly about it) we scored a corvair for $50 bucks and its roof so perfectly filled the 5Ws!!! how are you going to handle the roof? just curious.

if ours had been a perfect painted car, it would have been chopped just the same. it is art and besides, they came stock with your choice of 3" or 5" chop, DIDN'T they??
