  3. El Mitch, I was just telling a guy out in Az. about your homemade doors. He was going to chop down nice coupe doors to make roadster doors as he is making a cabriolet into a roadster. He wants to buy a nice roadster cowl piece off of me and we got talking. I told him to sell the nice doors and collect the coin. Then make a pair like yours. I'll forward him your thread.

I hope those old roadster doors I sent you worked out, lets see your complete door and how you spliced it together. Lovers look nice. Hope all is well.

Yeah, What a beauty! Made your own door's? Man, that's something. Great job. I have Brookville doors and it's a project to get them to fit the ford body. I'm sneaking up on it. Got the pass. door to shut nice. Probably have to start over when I tear it down for paint. Someday. Your car is sweet!

Man, what a sweetie! I've always wanted to shoot a car going over the Winchester bridge, by the freeway, with the dam in the background. Now I'll also be looking for your A-V8 every time I drive past there. Looks like you're in for a really fun summer, man.

That's actually kinda funny. I live about 100 yards from the Winchester Bridge. I drive my cars over there to take pics all of the time.

On another note, the roadster is officially on the road as of yesterday. I will have pics in the very near future. Now the DMV battle begins......again.

It actually handles pretty well. Much better than my stock Model A. The F1 box is still in good shape and my "tape measure alignment" seems to be working well.

    Thanks for the compliments,
    Mitch

As promised, here are a few pics of it. I've been driving it around having a good time with it between the rain and snow.

That car is inspirational to me as I work through my own AV8 build.

I did an update on the 31 truck so I figured I'd do an update on the roadster. The big news is that it has a title as of today!! There were no numbers on the engine, frame, or body, but we made it work. I put some new wheels and tires on it. They are 40 Ford steelies with 600's in the front and 750's in the back. I got inspired by the thread about wrapped steering wheels and wrapped mine with twine. And then I got some repop Edmunds air cleaners. It runs and drives great and I've been puttin on the miles as the weather allows. Every time I get in this thing, it starts to rain.

    Here's the pics,
    Mitch

Looks amazing! What size were your original wire wheels before you swapped to the 40's.

The first set was 600-650 Firestones on 17" 33-34 Ford wires in the rear and 500 Excelsiors on 16" 35 Ford wires in the front. Thanks for the compliment.

I haven't kept up with your thread. Now that I'm seeing your car again painted this time, it looks even better.
I like the simple 40's exhaust. No mufflers and tiny pipes. Whats that sound like? On the highway too?
