Drive train is kind of boring but it works great. It’s a stock 2 barrel mid 70’s SBC with TH350 trans and 9” rear. All suspension is stock Hudson and is plenty sufficient.
Ah shucks, I was hoping it was a place I could go to take cool pictures of my Rambler. That's really a cool background for car pics. Hope to see the Hudson in person one day
Yeah, a friend helped organize the last air show. They had HOURS to teardown. Next day the flightline was locked down to high security. New Drone Squadron and B21 bombers coming in soon.
The more I drive it the more I want to hop it up a bit. It’s fairly strong for what it is but you know how it goes. I’m definitely up for simple recommendations on what to do to get some performance from it. Not looking for a drag car but a deceitfully impressive big 40s coupe.
Uploaded current pics. Wide whites are too expensive so I bought regular tires. My tires were from the early 2000’s and one decided to come apart. Running just the caps as I didn’t like how it looked with trim rings and caps against the black wall tire. Car also got an engine upgrade last fall. A little warmed over sbc. Whole different car now. Lots more power. The little stock Monza 262 was getting boring.
Beautiful car, how about some pictures of the interior and dash. Hudsons had great looking dashes. Why not keep driving it with the SBC and build a nice Cadillac motor for it to swap out in the winter?
Pretty sure I've never seen one of these in the coupe body style. The 3 piece backlight is a very distinctive design. I don't imagine most folks think of Hudson offering a luxury model like this. It looks like Hudson was trying to take a shot at the same market as the Chrysler New Yorker, the previous LaSalle and other sub full-luxury models.
Nice car - those were overshadowed by the later Hornets but from what I've heard were very good cars in their day. Oh, and they had a a brother from another mother (hint: it's not US-made or some Soviet copy)
