I agree with Doug here. Flat space between lid gap and beltline looks much better. What about 53choptalk's idea to move the rear window forward? (Sure is easy to talk about this stuff from the armchair:))
Whatever you do Andy . . . good on 'ya for taking it on by yourself. Takes a real HAMB Man to do what you're doing!

Andy dont feel bad if you want to redo something...I had tthe whole top tacked back on the 47 before I realided it needed more out of the B pillar ...I couldnt just take the extra inch out and drop it down...I had to re-do everything lol! Oh well its the fun of doing customs!!

Good point Steve. we tend to change things and have trouble with stuff over and over.. your not alone in this.. this is what makes us hot rodders.. we dont give up..

  5. Thanks Brerhair . I will be in the shop on Monday for a few hours Maybe I will play around with the window again . Pics to follow . Andy..

Well only if I have to, I have no problem with cutting stuff apart again . Thats a last resort though . I am stubborn and dont give up easy on this stuff . Sometimes I have to walk away for a day or two but I then find I have more gas in the tank to have another stab at it . I'll get it for sure . Andy ..

Thanks fitzee . I dont have a quitting bone in my body . I envision what I want and I won't stop until its realized . This car I will say is my Opus (In fact that is what I will call it with a discrete name somewhere on the body )and if it takes 4- 5 years to build than so be it . Andy..

  6. Some more from this morning . As suggested I moved the rear window ahead a few inches and low and behold the window flow was not disrupted to bad and it fits the crown of the roof pretty good . Thanks for the input guys . Andy... PS the first two pictures are before I moved the roof forward . I am going to have to make a new catwalk panel later as this one was warped by an over zealous guy with a welding whip . LOL !!!

It's hard to tell from the pics Andy, but I think you got it! I tried to make the roof line flow with the gutters and the "C" piller width the same top to botom. Looks good to me!!

  16. Was in the shop today for a few hours before work . I am pleased with how this is laying out . Lots of weld and grind coming up . The two roofs are almost exact in contour . Keep in mind that the buick is just a chevrolet on steroids so alot of the lines are the same . I like the look from the rear of the car . Have a look . Andy... On saturday some friends are coming over . We will roll it outside for some profile shots and compare the avatar pics to what it looks like now .

  17. Speaking of the gutter I may remove that as well for that really smooth look . I like those customs alot . We will see . Thanks Rob ! The pics are hard to really see the progress . Later , Andy..

Thanks for your input hack and all the pics you sent me . Man what a ton of work you laid out . Where are you on the project now ??. Andy..

Looks really good, it flows nicely, and about the gutters, I would also suggest you not remove them, I wish I had not gotten rid of them on my car but I did and am paying for it now, they are there for a reason, water going into your doors becomes a big issue. Again great work!!!!

  23. I could not resist the beautiful day today ( 14 celcius ) . I rolled out the Buick and took some profile shots . Have a look . Andy PS quite a difference in the windshield height as well . !!!

Superb! It looks so right, not even like it´s chopped really.

  26. Thanks Orn . You making any progress on the Olds ?

Thanks Fitzee , I will be looking for more progress on flatliner in the near future

Well, I am a fan of the gutter, but I don't hate them without. Either way, it's going to look bitchen!! Roll that baby outside and get a nice side profile shot![/QUOTE] Hows that Rob !! Profile shots . You asked for it LOL !!!

If I do remove them it may be to shift the line so it flows with the C pillar and roof more fluidly . I would use 5/16 CRS and leave a channel on the topside for the water to run in . Thanks for the heads up on this issue . Andy

Thanks Brerhair . I gotta ask man . What does Brerhair mean ? Is it an acronym of your kids names ?? ! Andy

  28. Yes Russian you picked up on the transition point of the chop . This will be fixed in the near future as the reveal line has to be recontoured to flow better . Rest assured my friend I am on it . LOL !!
