    Thanks !
But forget it ... I made another try after reading your post and I finally managed. The trick is to have a wide flame, instead of the thin one a proparn torch has, to heat the whole part. So I put a piece of copper pipe over my torch tip , and it works :)
Part of a GM TBI on an alu plate, it s for an OT car, it s a 1966 I convert to injection / supercharger :) :

  4. Right on Nali . Sometimes all it takes is a few tries on something until it works . Andy...

    Nice work brother!

  8. Thanks for your comment . Keep checking once in a while .

Thanks Fitzee . They are turning out good . I will make a panel for across the entire back of the car that will tie in both panels at the tailights . That will straighten up the rest of the back end of the car . You not gettin much done lately on the torpedoback ??

Thanks Jimmy , Its gettin there . What a ton of work !!! Good thing I enjoy it  . Andy..

What do you do about a smaller windshield? Can you cut the

original down or what? I've never done a chop, obviously.

  10. Yup looks really sweet! Keep it up!

  11. Thanks for your interest . You can sandblast the unwanted section off . Glass shop can remove it . ( Expensive though , around here anyway ) Rotozip with a diamond cutter and water , Machine shop that has a waterjet cutter . This is very precise . Or you can have some real fun and dont cut it at all and sink it into the cowl !!!

Thanks again Kuztom . Stay tuned . Andy..

No it spring time here and I have a few cars i need to clue up at the shop and helping bill with his. Got to look after all this first then back at her..might get a day at it now and agian. Im itching to get at it let me tell you.

  13. Killer project!! Was great talking to you on the phone earlier... Subscribed so I can get back here and scan the entire thread later on!

  14. As well to you Trent . Dont forget pics of your Dads car . Andy..

  15. Got a little accomplished this weekend . I worked on the rear bumper on Saturday . I spent 3 hours taking some kinks out and getting it to fit right . No pics but you cant take a picture of frustration , can you ? LOL Anyway today I ran a tap through the threaded adjustment plates for the trunklid and bolted it on . The gaps are good at the top and on the sides the lid is flush but the gaps get way off on the sides . I will have to cut along the trunk opening at the offending places and close up the gaps where needed . That comes later . In these pics you can see that I have closed up the quarter tailight surround on te passenger side . I will have to wait to see the final profile result on the next fine day . I like what I see so far . I had to rework the lower right side panel to get the correct gap around the corner . Still a little fabrication and then a lot of finishing of these areas . Andy...

  16. I guess you're not looking forward to next step? Grinding and then some more grinding! Looks great though!

  17. Yep there certainly will be a lot of grinding . I should grind as I go but I like to see as much progress in one day as I can . That can all come later . Andy..

  18. I remember the buzzing sensation hours after I was done grinding, when I was building my '53 chevy. When I get to cutting and welding on it again, that's a feeling I'm not looking forward to.

  19. The grinding is something that i will get up and do one morning and then finish the welds with some 60 grit discs then up to 80 . then the DA will come out with some 100 then prime for later . Cant wait to get to the priming stage . It'll come sure enough. Andy..

    I love grinding !!!!!
    .... I m a liar ....
A good grinder makes a huge difference when you have to do it for hours.
But it s expensive .... A Makita is not the same price as a Mastercraft ..

As soon as the 66 Rambler gets wheels again, so that I can move it outside :)
    I have a small 12x24 garage.

  27. Oh OK get that rambler rollin and get to the good stuff . LOL!

  28. Well movin along slow but sure . I had to cut the left rear quaterpanel at the side trunk opening . The gap was way off . Have a look . The first picture shows the wide gap it is at least 7/16 open . I cut it and brought it down to 3/16 . Its hard to explain but on the bottom corner I used 3/16 CRS to form the corner . It looks a lot better now . I see that I will have to do the Right side as well . Thats for another day . Andy...

    Looks good!
Now pull to it outside of your garage,so we can see how it looks like in the daylight?

  30. Glad to see you're still plowing along on this. My only complaint is I'd love to see it about 4 inches lower all the way around. Looking good though!!!
