I'm sure no one really cares, but I just bought a 27 T Sedan today. Does anyone have any pics of some nice T Sedans? What do most people do to fill in the top? I would be fine with canvas, but the top bows are gone so I have no idea what it should look like.

In case anyone was wondering, the car in the background is a 1925 Overland. I was going to get that one, but the whole car is attached to a wood frame, and it looked like a little too much for my first rod.

    Cool T man.
I have seen some cats just weld in a flat piece of sheet metal.
    Looks good in my opinion.
Here is some backwoods inspiration for ya.....

That's pretty cool looking. I think a canvas top would be just swell, I'm just not sure how it attaches. Is there supposed to be wood around the perimeter, with bows going across the roof? I'll just slap a sheet a plexiglass on there and have a massive sunroof. I'm a bit pale anyway.

Now I am crossing my fingers hoping the Model A chassis I saw a couple weeks ago about ten miles from my house is still there. It has a bed on it, so that's a bonus.

Whaddya mean, "No one really cares"? I care deeply about what happens to any and all 26-27 Fords....great beginnings for a serious hot rod in all body styles, coupes being my faves.....You have a really nice 2 door sedan there. The straight body means a lot less body work/rust repair to wade through before you're on the road.....my buddy, Jamie, used a big sheet of aluminum, punched fulla louvers for his roof skin. Yeah, it leaks but the car was built to be operated in nice weather. Congrats on a great start. A model A frame would be a good choice as long as you're gonna run a little flathead, 4 banger or box it if you're even considering some hefty V/8 power.....not bad at all..

The first thing you gotta do is ditch those shitty doors, everybody knows a COOL sedan runs doorless. Tell ya what, gimmie directions and I`ll run up there and haul em off for ya...free of charge, since your a fellow HAMBer and all!

It's funny you mention the doors. They have another T body that is doorless that I may try to buy. I can envision it with the body shortened and welded to the cowl and a bed in the back. Kinda sorta modified style. It would be cheap at least. Hell, I may do it just to use the T frame for something. I'd just make it so low that I can step into it. Seeing that I am 5'4", it would have to be pretty damn low.

I figured I would box the A frame and run a Studebaker engine. Yup, a Studebaker. I am a bit of a 'Baker freak, and I like the fact that it is different. When I saw that bare metal roadster with a Stude mill I cursed out loud and screamed "That was my idea first!" and wept for hours.

I am told a Mustang T5 will bolt up to a Studebaker, so I may go that route.

There is a 25 overland there, a late 30's Plymouth pickup with the coolest patina ever, a 30 something Franklin shell with no doors, some various late 40's cars, and a 28-29 Model A chassis with cowl that was coverted into a rig to haul hay to the loft of a barn. Sorry I didn't catch all of them, but I had my eyes on the prize. If anyone wants the guy's e-mail address and #, let me know.

So, um, what I was trying to say was there were no 29-32ish 2 door Chevy sedans.

That model is awesome, though a bit more extreme than I would like. I bet that thing would be 20 feet long in real life! I am debating the suicide frontend right now. I like how it sits, but I don't like the look of a big crossmember in front of the grill.

  27. Good start man! Nice find. Now just wack as much as you can stand out of the top, Z the frame, pick up a dropped axle, and you'll have a mean little T.

That's the plan so far. My checkbook needs to recover from buying the car now. I'll be working on it like a madman in no time though. Anyone have a dropped axle? I'll give you a Model T chassis and driveline for it. You know you want to.
