Here is my new ride. 1966 Mustang.
It is not really traditional, but my plans are to do some mild custom stuff to it.

Looks to have an original 289, with 4 barrel and chrome valve covers. Has factory mags and pony interior. Prior owner upgraded the cooling fan, water pump and radiator. The ride runs cool in the heat.

It was an AZ car, so it is rust free. It showed up locally and I could not resist.

First break down was the starter in Mike Zenor's driveway at the Primates' picnic. Thanks to Magnet and Hellfish for the push start attempt.

The trip to Auto zone for another starter showed that the tranny is actually a '69 4 speed. After getting the right part and a new voltage regulator, it was a 15 min/ $50 fix.

I am pretty happy, but the plans are for some 1 inch whites, a brake job and maybe some paint next year. (There are some massive scratches.)

I am not computer savvy enough to post a pic, though. Arcadian blue, with blue and white interior.

    Traditional hot rod, hell no!

Way cool car from the sixties, hell yes!

Three pedals and a four speed? Even better!

I was digging early Mustangs back when the only hot rods that I'd ever seen came in 1/25th scale from the hobby shop. I've got two '66 fastbacks right now. [IMG]

O.K., back to our regular programming...... [IMG]

  3. Here's two things that will make this car ten times more fun:

-16 inch American Torque Thrust-D's w/ aggresive tires made for handling
-Lowering and addition of heavy anti-roll bars

W/ the addition of those you go from a corner floater w/ power to a corner gripper w/ power.

Get yerself a good paint job w/ the big white stripe down the middle and you're ready to goTrans-Am Styley.
