My advice, only buy brand name USA items, scat, eagle etc, If there are cheap, do not purchase. I feel embarrassed to mention that I purchased a set of pro comp connecting rods, that were absolute fucking junk and required me to purchase scat products - eventually costing me double the initially purchase price. Any questions please ask. Glen

I was having issues tuning an off idle stumble, felt the triple carbs were holding the engine back. I wanted to maintain the nostalgia look so I installed a pair of Edelbrock carbs, WOW, what a difference, engine now revs fast and clean, no stumble, sounds real strong, and that's without tuning - mixture screws 1 1/2 turns out. Yet to drive the car as a few little things to do and the weather is shit, cannot wait to tune and drive. Glen 20240711_154444[1].jpg 20240711_154437[1].jpg

Took car for a drive a couple of weeks back, ran like shit, way to rich and not wanting to idle. Pulled the top of the carbs to check float level etc. Both carbs were full of crap (obviously been sitting for a while) and the front carbs metering rods were bent, also one carb was a 1406 and one was a 1405. I ended up rebuilding both carbs and now they are identical in specifications. It started up first go and runs like a dream, took it for a short drive and its so much better than before, from standstill it fry's the Tyres. Yet to dial it in but more than happy with the result. My 31 recently had cylinder head issues, heads are tired so I decided to replace with some alloy units. I purchased a set of cheap heads from Skip White ( whiteperformance ) on Ebay USA, they look all right for cheap heads, I plan to clean up the ports a little and maybe port match to intake. I also needed roller rockers and a stud girdle and tall rocker covers to compliment heads. While I'm changing heads I decided to fabricate some new headers as well, today I worked on collector position, pipes will be 2 inch and use header plates to suit my SBC, a few pics Glen f6db5457-8336-4f4a-b8e8-6df97c7f5055.jpg 20250711_170545.jpg 20250711_170549.jpg 20250711_170554.jpg 20250711_170600.jpg 20250711_170605.jpg

You better close those ports up quickly, it looks like an invite to multiple Mouse Houses!
