I know a guy with a 33-34 roadster cowl top. I can see if he would sell it, if you are interested.

  4. I think GotGas was the only one who caught on!! Nobody noticed that I was gonna turn an old 34 hot rod roadster into a 3-window!? Who would make that mistake? Sorry to say there are no doors or car. LOL

Dragnut, the joke was not what I WAS mad about. The thing that go me was that you said you had something "forsale" BUT you did not admit to NOT having it till someone called you on it. And being a person (and not the only one on the HAMB) who has been ripped off ( AND I AM NOT SAYING THIS WAS YOUR INTENT) it just struck a nerve. I am sorry for the "sorry fuck" comment as I dont know you,I DONT think you were going to rip anyone off and I typed before I thought!! Again Sorry............

    Hey 3W
Don't feel too bad about the 34 Cab. I saw this car in person @ Don Babbs place in Lancaster.CA. He owns it.
I thought it was a shame too until I went out & took a good look @ it:D
It was a glass car made to look like a gennie just for that scene. The magic of Hollywood strikes again.I think that's why thy didn't stay on th shot that long. The transportation captain & special effect coordinator coat the body with a flamable agent that doesn't reallydo too bad of a burn to the surface. so it may look like it going up in total flames, but it's an illusion.
I mean, don't get me wrong, they did burn up th interior, but that was nothing compared to what it would have cost them to buy a $25-30k Cabriolet just to burn it for a minute of film.

Well ...it's been a LONG wait for me to be able to work on this. The lack of money, lack of time and a lot of other crap has gotten in the way. I've also learned a lot since this was started and I am excited to finally get to build it.

I had to make a big sacrafice to do it. I sold my 48 Chevy truck to a nice young guy that is really excited about the truck.

I should be starting on it in the next week or two and I will be on it full bore. I hope to have it drivable for the Jalopy Showdown Invitational. Doubt it will be completely done.

The car will be influenced by my old RPU (13) and my old 32 5 window (13b).

I'll start a new thread for the build.

PS.... I have NO regrets about cutting the roof. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm even collecting parts to build a second car. I just need a driver's side quarter to make a second body.

I saw the post and said to mtyself "all is not lost clark is cutting another one up."

Then I opened it and saw that it was a very old thread when we used to do things like this. Glad you are back at it friend. I'll have to check back next week. If you start a new thread please PM me the link.

    Very cool

Cool beans Clark... I just saw a pretty decent driver's side 5w quarter at Waterdown last week. Might be able to track the seller down...

What are the plans for motor-vation???

    I like the plan!

Unfortunately, I'm not, but I think I do have the guy's card here somewhere... I'll see what I can dig up. I was actually wishing he had it the last time I saw him about, oh... 5 months ago... When I was stitching a pair of quarters together with patch panels and scraps. :D

  24. great to hear that the passion is still there, and you're going to be getting back into this project, is there a 37 truck grill on the cards, with a paint scheme like that one you chose for the buble top?

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)
