What did you have to do to make the 6 speed mate up to the 350? I have a 93 t-56 and want to use it behind a 78 350 but I cant get a straight answer on what flywheel and clutch set up to use.Can ya help a brotha out?
Sure thing. Use LT1 stuff. I chose to step up and used Centerforce LT1 stuff, but it's still LT1 stuff. You'll need the 153-tooth flywheel and a starter to match. I got my starter from Powermaster because it's lighter weight, higher torque, and it's physically smaller so I have some clearance to things like the exhaust and oil pan, but...it's all LT1 stuff. I'm using a stock bellhousing and everything so I could run the stock hydraulic clutch. I used the American Touring Specialties (ATS) adapter plate for the hydraulic cylinder. Their kit has a rod end on the the cylinder so it can be adapted to the factory clutch pedal. The mount plate sandwiches behind the master cylinder and puts the hydraulic cylinder at the correct angle. After that, mine is all factory stuff (reservoir, slave cylinder, etc) and fits like it too... www.t56kit.com should be able to answer more questions about this swap...great guys to work with. Scotch!~
So we will see you at the HAMB Drags, yes??? Just a quick hop from Minnesota... -Abone. PS. I finally got to the bottom of the 10, 000 degree torque converter. I'll PM you for the puttin it in the mental files.
Its all about those AFR heads. I have a Set on my monte. I was reading a old carcraft today. They did a ford build up on a 302. stock bottom end stock cam, put some AFR's and a performer rpm on it, made over 400 hp.
