@corncobcoupe bought the 55 Buick Special I wanted and took it from Nebraska back to Iowa so I bought a 50 Oldsmobile 88 from Iowa and bringing it back to Nebraska! That will even things out & I think the Olds will be more fun than the Buisck would have been. I know everyone likes pictures so I'll post what I have so far and can add a few more later on after I make some changes to make it my own. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Really cool. The Olds 88 was a factory performance car.

Is the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 a muscle car?

The 1949 Oldsmobile 88 is widely regarded as the first true muscle car—before the term even existed. Its revolutionary pairing of a lightweight body with the brand-new 303-cubic inch Rocket V8 engine gave it unmatched acceleration for its time.May 9, 2025

  11. What are your plans for it? Looks like a really good start

First is to check everything over and make sure it is safe to drive, then I plan to strip the rest of the peeling paint and make sure the body is prepped for paint and decide whether to paint it shiny or satin finish. I am too old to do much body work on it as I just want to make it a nice fun driver that I can drive and enjoy while continuing to work of my 58 Chev that I do want to be shiny when done.

    Looking good!!

  14. Look that has always appealed to me on those cars is a super glossy metal flake roof over a satin contrasting body.
