MY OT 32 5W CHOPPED & BLOWN BLAST FROM THE PAST project..

So, got the hinge mirrors... I still think they stick out too far... plan was to short'n the arms and tig weld them... but they are pot metal not stainless..

 

and the tail lights are done...

 

Another vote that those wheels are way over used and they look terrible.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry has those banana spokes, I've never understood why so many people use them other than the reason to buy is because everyone else has them and you have to fit in with them or something.
Put those wheels in the tweed pile along with the valve covers, it all goes together.
Do you have any photos of the hood removed ?

I would of drove Yr 32 the way you purchased, I would Not liked over head console nor fabric on the garnishes and dash,
For me whats been done For me looks

One other thing I think is Hard is to run Exhaust out back when fenderless and no bumper , on my 5w needing 3 inch
I chose to exit in front of rear tires under running boards ,
But I used true S.S Narrow Oval , its louder inside riding ,

On wheels , I was trying to say
"Do Not " let them hold you back from driving ..
I was looking for reference of different Wheels with your tire combo ,
The look I think you are wanting
Narrow on front , Cheater Pie on rear.
I just think the Modern round spoke & curved out polished
Takes away from tires . Just my opinion.

Me My 32 Egg When I picked up, it was during a Hurricane , I added Insurance
Then when I arrived to my place I tagged , I would Not , did Not Drive it
Only to unload from trailer Until I took the 4x4 look away & Lower,
I was Not driving it Did not want Know one to see Me in It .. yes Weird that way .
The Nomad 67 is my Family member car, I will not ride or be seen in Unless No choice to do so , Family member has this car for close to 15 yrs as of Now still have Not sat in , his 67 SS No problem being seen in,

I kinda like the hood and side wings... so I haven't taken them off...so no pics yet...

as far as the wheels... I don't do anything cause everyone else is doing it... or not do it cause every one else is...if that was the case I wouldn't have 4 kids and a wife..

I think the whole salt flat wheel deal is one of those that will be look'd back at like billet and tweed...

but that said... what wheel would you try... and post some pics if you don't mind

 

did you re paint the green??? or just differant cameras

well, with a little luck.... I'll make it back...maiden voyage here shortly... most I've drove it was on and off the trailer and around the yard... finally got all the wiring done so we will see

 

also... with 32's if it don't look like most everyones... it's got things wrong...

 

cruise went very well...thrill to drive around...I can't afford a car like this... but got it anyway

 

Regarding the wheels, which I really like on ‘modern’ street rods, (mainly tri five Chevrolets) :
I wonder if you painted the ‘banana’ spokes grey like the photos below…………..how would that look ?
Maybe a cheap temporary fix ?

Are you Ok with those wheels , sorry I did not call back , when I look @ clock to call late for you , back to the Wheels I'm just thinking maybe I'm wrong that you're looking for a Rim/ Wheel to go with the style tires you're using and sort of mid 60s look 32 ?

maybe some gray duct tape over the spokes stand back 10 or 15 feet and see what / if a difference in the look?

 

Now wonder with Steeley's with the blower what kind of appearance that will give ?

It's like you can't see the forest for the trees. The red has nothing to do with it.
Let's see if we can help out here. As I see it, you have a few things that are keeping your coupe in 'streetrod land'.
You need to get rid of that Hilborn scoop..... It has got to go!
Flick those wheels and put on steelies with trims and caps.
And sorry but the flames don't help at all, but they may have to stay if you don't want to repaint.
Also, not essential but it could be a bit lower.

You're obviously correct. The things I pointed out clearly aren't why you can't get the look you want, and it must be the fact that yours is red that is causing you all the dramas. After all, it's not a truck...

artillery wheels with cap adapters.. ,dirt track tires.. hair pin front..vega steering,pencil tip exhaust,blood red... not stop sign red..mirrors close to body, no grinch green flames, chevy tail lights.... whats not to like???
