Nice score, real nice. Get it back out as a parts chaser, or just for fun. I put a later model dual hydraulic master under my otherwise stock '54 Ford F100 P/U, was real glad I did, I put my kids in it sometimes, and they drive it, too. I picked a drum/drum unit from about '67 I think, the adapters are available but I made one, it was pretty straightforward. Mine was under the floor, I had to add residual pressure valves as I had bleed-back when parked on a hill. Those old drums need to be stomped on real hard in today's traffic sometimes. Peace of mind: priceless.
Wow, A couple hours and my thread is about dirty nails.... Its for sale, but the one thing I absolutly HATE is seeing an old car on blocks because some old fart thinks he is going to fix her up one day. So I will not wait to long before I start making it my own. And I dont plan on chopping or bagging it if thats what you guys are worried about. I plan on a fixing the rusted pannels, new wood bed kit, maybe new front springs from posies that will lower the front a little to give it a better stance. Paint it one solid color (im thinking dark red/maroon with off white grill/headlight buckets and bed spear. I dont like chrome) and it came with the origonal wheels still with the hub cap clips. Why is this truck so special? Is it the trim or the style, I showed the 55 i bought about 4 months ago and people told me to clip it. What gives?
That picture of the champieng colored '59 is neither chopped nor bagged. It's just bombed. Meaning all the stock chrome trim and lowered. But, if you don't like chrome, well, then so sorry for that poor little truck.
IMO it's just that most longbed trucks got trashed due to work, then later because of ***umed lower value. This one hasn't been abused and it has all the trim that makes it cool and unique. I just dig that it's all still together and as stated already that it would be someones dream truck just like it is. If I wasn't crazy about the truck with the trim on it, I would flip it and find something else. Your truck...your decision. Good luck with it.
