Welcome JustMike! Really nice introduction of you in a post that went overboard. I´ve also been around HAMB that long ... It seems that not many cares what "roadstar" wrote, or wanted to write into his posting. Mostly a lot of bashing in return. I think I got it, or did I get "roadstar´s" point wrong? To me rodding, and custom building, is about improving and modifing stuff to get perform better, and look better (the later more important than performance when it comes to customs). To me primer is OK, but a stage in the progress. It is always fun to see cars getting better for each event while having fun! Just the way Hop Up Magazine is so good to communicate... (As well as it is depressing to see some getting run down to heaps of junk)

By the way Im 39, a die-hard custom enthusiast and been into this since I could say "car" (dad was into cars too)and my main sources of influence are Valley Customs combined with pre WW2 German GP racers...

    Shit Germ-
Haven't you already HAD*******proof in SUPERSECRETVILLE...?
Or was it not TM'ed then...
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Kirk-
Billetproof has DEFINATELY blossumed since the first one I went too (2000),
And I think GERM does have a valid point or two,
(although they may not have been "eloquently presented")

Those being, when you started Billetproof,
Weren't you trying to get away from the MAINSTREAM theme...?

The problem, as I see it now, is every****GOT out there
Thinks they are "alternative" or "PFR"
    ("PFR" being "Punk-FUCKING-rock) [IMG]
    Because it's the "IN" thing-

scensters come and go in everything

    I say keep billetproof,
    NO MATTER WHAT
(as long as you are still digging it)

    I'm NOT complaining,
Billetproof was WITHOUT A DOUBT a high-light for me this year
And the most important thing is
WHETHER or not YOU dug it-

Oh, and I dare ANYONE to put on as cool a show
    (w/o handpicking everyone who enters)
    As Kirk did-

Hell, I'll even put a WAGER ON IT!
    (Cause it CAN'T be DONE!)

"WAAHHH! My****** hurts" --- You know who you are!

    So......

If a car is not PERFECT, it can't be cool?

And Billetproof is no longer cool because TOO MANY people enjoy it?

Fuck. Looks like we all better join Goodguys and break out our lawnchairs.

  5. I think that you just made the argument cleatus?? if I get this right thats what these jokes and posts have been saying the Jim A version was Poserproof Germ`s version is*******proof I dont think anyone disagree`s that is was not fun and that there were alot of cars and that the masses didnt enjoy it as they do at a goodguys event from what I have heard in personal conversation`s is that they miss the Vultures sponsered small car show named billetproof and that its not that any more ?? am I right its lost it`s patina ???? sounds alot like the complaints the old timers have about the goodguys and the old days following Gary`s departure from the NSRA and now. Where were the Vulture`s?????

  6. I guess this Kirk fella is not much for
    idling.

    Hayward was better.
    Livermore was ok.
This was the best so far.
