Hi there, new to the group and wanted 2 introduce myself with pics of my car. My name is Nick,im 22 yrs old & Love cars! From hotrods & cl***ic/kustoms to musclecars. But im in LOVE with 40's-50's Cl***ic & Kustoms. I have a 1954 Ford 2dr. Customline that im currently working on. Making it into a mild traditional custom and everday driver out of it. *When i trailered her home. It was an AZ. car. Straight 6 w/ 3spd overdirve. Parked since the mid 70's and only had small amount of rust in the rockers that i patched up, and just surface rust that was sanded off.
Heres pics of the tear-down and build from what i could get. *took out some windows and just started sanding away... *Little bit of priming... * Car in bare metal
That's a really nice car! Won't take much to get it back together and on the road. What motor/trans are you planning to use? Any idea of the color scheme? (Pleeeeeeze don't go flat black with red wheels! Pleeeeeeze!) I'm real fond of the seafoam green the car was painted originally. It's "right" for the car and an upcoming "glamour color". Be ahead of your time... Glad you decided to join us! Eric / missysdad1
Welcome. Very nice car! Look on the photoshop thread in this social group- let me know if ya wanna see it in paint, lowered, etc.
Hey thanks for the compliments. You dont have to worry about the flat black w/ red wheels scheme. I was gonna focus on the gtting it running and just have gray & black primer but i got over the whole "FLAT" paint scheme. And after all the hard work im putting in this car, its going to have gloss paint. Black top w/ blue pearl. Its going to have a 302 5.0 motor w/ a t-5 trans. Cut coils & lowering blocks 4 now, eventually going to airbags when everything else is done.
*Took the body off the frame. Going to sandblast the frame & underbody. Also Filled in the trim holes on the side body. Primed the body after I finished sanding it. *On a roatisery and getting cleaned. Underbody was in great shape.
*Underbody Clean, undercoated and Painted! *Cut ****** tunnel 2 make room for the new ****** and motor swap. *FRAME cleaned and being painted
Hey thanks, its been a project for almost about 2yrs. Ill get more pics of it when i can. So far i have the body back on. The project took a hold due to lack of funds. Its in my garage with no front clip until i get my 302 so i can attach it to the t-5 and wire it. Still a ways away
I've followed your build on the ford forum, and I've always really liked your car. Its really nice underneat! Too bad about not having the engine. The first time you get to drive it, you'll forget about most of the work.
