    Just like being there!

  2. It's sweet. Hope to see it in person some time.

I also was knocked out by the Eastwood / Barakat sedan, back when I saw it on the cover of SRM way back when, and dig the tribute sedan too.

Dad's got a deuce sedan that's been apart since around '62 or so. Ever since seeing the E/B sedan, I had always figured that when I got around to putting dad's sedan together, it would have to spend some time as a hiboy, but Lil Howard's sedan has me reconsidering!!! I don't know for sure, but I think that Evans & 3 97s may be the last guy to drive it!

Yes, they are SB2/SB2.2 heads. The new RO7 heads do not have siamese exhaust ports, but these earlier ones did. The intake and exhaust valves are swapped on the end cylinders.

  5. That's what one of his friends told me they were and it makes some sense because he bought the heads off Ebay so they probably were sold when the new ones came out. Whatever it is, it is the nastest thng I've heard in a long time.

  6. Denny said Jack was supposed to go with him down there but backed out. I wish he would have come cuz I haven't seen his new '34 yet and it would have been neat to see it on the road. Do you see the Rodder's Journal it was featured in? A very cool car!

  7. Chris, I should have asked if you were a HAMBER! Now I know!

Darn, I wish I would have got around to getting a poster from Norm too before he left.

Damn, I just blew that "Avoid The Boyd" sticker off my spreader bar today when I washed the roadster!

Lil Howards Deuce knocked me out the first time I saw it two years ago at Des Moies Deuce Doins. Nice car!

Great pics and story. Thanks for taking the time to post. I turned up around 2pm, the presentations had already started so I had only got a quick check out of the cars as the place pretty much cleared out. Looking at your pics I obviously missed some of the cars... next year I'll get there earlier (I have no excuse as I am only 15 mins away!).
    cheers

Until today the Rodder's Journal was all I seen of it too. It's a cool car. He parked it in the shop and went up to Loran Barstads place to look at His sprint cars (in Rod's '32) so they were right up in your neck of the woods. Then they both went the the Car Councel's little cruise at Straight Lines in Tea. I was going to go to the cruise but I ended up putting a clutch in a Sterling instead:mad:....

That is a buddy of mine's Cadillac. He calls her Bloody Mary.. That is him standing in front of her with the hood open. Frankie is a cool guy. I grew up about 15 minutes south of Pete and Jakes, in Harrisonville. I miss being able to drive just up the road and pick up a 4 link or kind of mount or tab that I needed. Wish I was there this weekend and not in Japan..
