Great story, and pics. Saw the cars at the RU, but unfortunately didn't get to meet you'all(or if I did, didn't connect you to your cars?). I really enjoy hearing of folks trials and tribulations (and fun times) on trips! I live out towards the Marble Falls area that you wrote about, and also love the area. Glad you made it back home safely . Thanks for posting. Skot
I just have to say thanks for posting this, that was a rad time. I just cant stop thinking about that roadtrip. If you were gonna trailer, then I was gonna hitch a ride. I dont want to give that motor back! Remember that ol timer saying you cant take I35 from here, its closed? Hell , we went anyway! Hey, what did ever happen to that rest stop outside Oki city on that marathon drive home? Did it really disapear, or did all three of us sleep right by it? You know, I wasnt worried,I guess that I knew we would find someone that could get you a water pump. Now if I could only find another radiator. I will try to post some pics from my collection this weekend after I get back from vacation.
hey Jay - I just got off the phone with you and I feel like I was with you on the whole trip after listening to you rattle on non-stop... way to go to both you and jeff, like I said, I am so ENVIOUS!! The pictures are great Jay, especially the sunrise shot. I can't wait to see the post about Jeff's little problem ( and more pictures! ) It was great talking to you Jay, you definitely sound like you still haven't come down yet. I'll give you a call again for the rest of the story "live". Later, mike
Great story, even better pictures. Thanks. .....sure makes you want to go out to the garage and start thrashing for next year.
Such a great adventure, I always thought the drive is the best reason to go anywhere. I was only there for a small part of it and makes me envyous I trailered. lesson learned.
Great stuff, Jay! Awesome road trip saga, glad it turned out well. Many props to you. See you in Joplin real soon! Bil
I witnessed this feat with my own two eyes You forgot the wind !........ wind was blowing so hard the wipers on the Mercury would not even touch windshield on driver side That was a helleva storm
I am very greatful that you trailered and you brought a cabin to sleep in! Man that was an adventure! Thanks for sticking around, you are an upstanding rightious dude! and I think I owe you for dinner at that diner with that drunk outside.
It was AWESOME seeing you again sweetie and having the opportunity to hang out for the weekend together. Your car looked great. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I always like to hear other peoples versions of the same weekend. I miss you guys already.
I think that this is the right time to bring back this post. I want to hear some road trip stories from some of you this year. It is all about getting there... Jeff
Yeah , me too. I just dont have the time and money to make it happen. Mokan here we come. I cant wait to check out that sedan in person. What a great build. Jeff
Uh, there's only two of us in it at this point, ya know (My Uncle John is riding with me). There are two other vehicles comin' down, but not Gary. It'd be awesome if Jeff came with!
HAHAHAHA, Kevin, none of us have a running flatty powered hotrod running this year. Maybe next year. Jeff
