where are his shoe laces? Why don't he have any tools in his hands? Uncles are supposed to be cool and teach the nephews about cars........

Seat position looks good. Headroom with the headliner in?

You are getting closer to being able to drive it, I am pretty excited for you.

    Keep it up!!

Stefan, just found this thread today. Been on here for about 2 hours, looking and reading your post and replies, all 23 pages. Everything that members have said is exactly how I feel, this is what car building is all about. JAWS is telling it like it is, he has some good input. Way to go with the nephew, start them young and keep them wanting to learn more. Now that I'm caught up with your thread I can't wait for updates. Amazing, amazing work.

    Stefan,
Your craftsmanship is awesome and look forward to your updates. I showed it to my oldest son who kicked me off of my computer and spent the last three hours reading this thread and asking questions.

How long has your car been in Sweden? Was there flames on the hood at one time?

What software are you using to create your models? They look like Pro-E to me.

Really great work and I love seeing you working with your family.

    Kevin.

Stefan, Matt, dang nice work on that oval window....

Does the heart good to see you passing down your gifts and that he is picking it up with such fervor.

Back to the Shoebox.....I like the seat brackets...Tube frame like the front?

My car has been in sweden since 23 march 1987 it come toghter with 2 other shoeboxes one of them is Swedeshoebox's shoebox

The man that have taken in the car was car collecter and than he died in 2004 were some of his cars sold on auction, But my car had of some reason been put outdoors without windows and front. My car was not sold on the auction but the guy that i bought the car of asked the daugther to the owner if i could buy the car. And he did it. My car stand in his barn and i asked him if he want to sell it to me. But he didn't want it from the beginin
but his girl frend thought that had to mutch bad cars. So he rember that i have asked him about the car. And i bought the car.

The flames on the hood were painted with touch pen of the last owner,

The 3d models are made in solidworks. And i work as an engineer and that is one of the tools i use in my work.

Another late-comer to your fantastic thread, Stephan. Your total butchery of written English is about as enjoyable as watching (with amazement) your fabrication skills.

I do my own sandblasting also and use regular sand. I find that I can re-use it only 2 or 3 times before it loses its edge. My biggest problem is waiting for the damnned compressor to catch up. My air compressor output is 14 cfm @ 90 psi. Do you have the same issue?

I assume you're tig welding the stainless. Are you mig welding the steel sheet?

And all you Europeans seem to have the coolest old English wheels.

You are an out-of-control crazy fucking Swede, Stephan, and we say Thank You ! :D

When i blasted have a extra 1000 litre [35sqf] tank and have 3 compressors one big 600 l/min [21cfm] and two 200 l/min [7cfm] so i can blaser near without wait and have rise the pressure to 9 bar [130 psi] on the compressors

The welding i have used on my shoebox is tig and mig weld.
But i have used mig on stainless steel to with 316l ss weld tread with argon gas.

My english wheel is made of stainless steel so it may look cool

    but over to the shoebox

I have begin with sides behind the rearseat

I think to made arm rests on the sides shoud i do them in polished stainless or should i dress them insted?
I have think to do the garinsh moldings in stainless.

    Stefan,

I don't know if you would want those panels unupholsterd due to the road noise from the rear wheel well. Even though polished stainless would be bitchen.

I like the idea of some stainless trim accents and the garnish moldings done that way too.

I didn't know you were a carpenter also!

Stefan, in reply to your arm rest question, I would cover with material, would be more pleasant to rest your arm on material. Garnish mouldings in stainless would be cool. Just my 2 cents.

Beautiful work! Makes me feel guilty about only getting my windlace back in. And I haven't done .001% of what you've done.

    Keep up the excellent posts.

How are you going to direct the exhaust flow through the tubes?

Capping two tubes, the first and the middle in an enclosure on one end. On the other end, the middle and the other tube capped the same way. Effectively making an "S". Then wrapping the whole mess in a shell.

    Is that your plan?

Stefan- Alot of people can build a good looking custom but it is not everyday that you see a well engineered custom! this has to be one of the best built/looking cars in a long time!!!
