thanks for all coments and merry x-mas (God Jul)

I have worked with my shoebox today and i have fixed the trans beam

Her's the bmw part weld in the ford beam

The getrag box in plance with rubber bumpers.

Ther's a lot of lift in out the motor package and now it's out and time for little more work with the passinger side headers.

I have spot weld some pipes

it's a lot work with do headers in the shoebox to the flathead.
i need to lay some more time to the pipes on the passinger side before the will be welded ready.

Her's the pipes to the driver side ready welded.
I hope the fit after welding or i have to cut up them and change them.

    /Stefan

Been off the HAMB since around March . . . just getting caught back up.

You are absolutely fearless, Stefan!! You are not afraid to re-engineer anything!

Guess that's why you became an engineer in the first place, yes?

Poetry in motion, very entertaining and inspiring.

    thanks for the comets

And i like to re.engineer things and fix my own solusions on tekincal things

I have worked little today on my shoebox

The pipes to the passinger side headers is now ready to be weld by a pro

I have made a return pipe from the rear of the oil pan for better drain of rear end of the pan

I have begin to thinking of the drive shaft.
I have a Volvo 740 shaft and front part of a bmw shaft

One good thing is that the volvo shaft fit to the bmw gearbox
but the volvo shaft is approx 250-300 to short

If i shall use the volvo shaft must i have a u-jont that fit a ford 8" rear axle and the volvo shaft i dont know if there is anny of them to buy
If i have luck there is a longer front part to the volvo shafts thats fit but i belve the longer model are to short to

I have tested the pipes on the driver side headers

I must bend them little under the cutch arm so they will not go to close to the ground

Thanks everyone for all the coments

I have a 8" rear axle from a Granada 75 with i have think to use to the shoebox

I have cut the sping plates from the ford 8" axle they is wide than the shoeboxes spring plates and not placed on exakly right place
The old axle have 1070mm center to center 2" wide springs
The granada axle spring plates is for 2.5" springs and the center to center is 1" diffrent

I must fill up the cut after the spring plates
I seen that the plates hve been moved before so it's maybe not a Granada axle from the beging?

Now i have fillde up the cuts with mig weld

I shall se if it's posibe to go to the junkyard tomorrow and buy a one more volvo drive shaft.

That one i have is to short and have not 1310 u-joint
So i hope that i can find one with 1310 u-joint insted so it fits to ford axle
I belve ther's no enogh long volvo shaft for this application but that i have is the shortes model from a volvo 740
The volvo i have taken it from was a 87 with M46 gearbox (4 speed +overdrive)

I were on junkyard and bought a other volvo drive shaft from a 940 with 5 speed gearbox

    The lenght was perfect.
I must hang it up in the bearing on the middle i think to weld a plate to the floor beams
so i can screw it up

But there was one isue the u-joint is to small on the volvo shaft for fit the ford 8" yoke
I have two way to solve this problems
    1. make 2 sleves so the volvo u-join 75x27mm fit
    2. buy a u-joint that fit the rear axle and hope i can lock it the inside of the yoke on the shaft.
That seams it should be posible to do
    I need a 82x28.5 x 82x27 mm [3,23"x1.12" x 3.23"x1,06"] with insde locks with 55mm [2.17"] betwine the locks

A two-piece drive shaft with a support bearing in a shoebox. I love the way you simply "make do" ("nöja sig") with what is available to you. Love this build.

    Thanks for the coments

    The pies are in 316L/1.4404
Not the best to this application 304 is better to exhast stystem becase of more heat stablity and less able to crack becase of the temperture

the pipes is from beging ss press piping that was scraped on my work so they was cheep
