Thank you sir! Did you ever find a nice set of doors? A guy around here is parting out a nice solid 4 door. Let me know I'll PM his number.

My left doors are fixed, and I got an NOS right front door. I'm still looking for a rust- and dent-free right rear door.

I got myself motivated to finish my passenger side floor patch, got it mostly fabbed, and now I can't find the metal cup that goes on the bottom of the floorboard to support the trans mount body pad. So that project came to a screeching halt. Hate when shit like this happens. My organizational skills are a bit lacking...

Dad how are you ever going to finish the shoebox if you don't make this pole at the correct angle?

    Update
Peaked the spare hood. Had building department stop by because douche bag neighbor said I was running an illegal chop shop and pouring my used oil in the street. Got to love it. Only thing inspector asked is for me to move compressor and send the engine hoist back to across the street to the neighbor I borrowed it from. And he added make as much non car working noise as you want and please when he's having a party refinish a dresser or piece of furniture to piss him off. I guess I have 45 days to be done before I have to move stuff around. I am so over him as my neighbor an this as a thank you for knocking on his door so he didn't get a $68 arking ticket the other day when it was street sweeping day. See if I do that again. It's getting really hard to be the bigger person.

What do you have to move around?
Are you renting or do buying the house?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're a bigger man than me. Although you're above "keeping the score even" you've gone too far by helping him with the parking situation. He can fight his own battles now.

We own our house his wife rents their house. I have to move compressor to behind garage or inside garage. It's behind our house in between garage on the driveay now. Hoist has to be in garage or go back to neighbor across the street.
Trust me it is very hard to be the bigger person. The mediator told me she doesn't know how I haven't gotten nasty because he pushed to do a face to face meeting and he refused to go. She said he got nasty to her when she said I am within my rights. Each thing he's done has made it harder. I will never help him or his wife ever again trucst me on that. It sucked inspector came 15 minutes after the plumber left that was doing work without permit over there. 10 years ago if this went on in Detroit I would have been in jail already. But I have more to lose now I'm married and have a soon to be 2 year old son. What start this round of crap was on Sunday his wife was going off on him for driving home drunk on Saturday night and not getting up to go to church with the family. I'm so over it I can't even explain how much. Today the cops showed up when I was trimming the shrubs and I showed them what I had been doing all morning they thanked me sad sorry for taing up my time and left.

Yes fuck that douche bag he'll get his sooner or later.

I completely understand what your talking about when you say you have more to lose now.
I am very surprised they havent fined him for false complaints.

Do you have their landlords number? I would contact them.
Also the wall that is between you guys, is it wood or block? we should have a build it higher party. so what they see is nothing when they look out their window.
If you need help getting things situated let me know, I can cruise over and help you.

Whats funny is you can't look out his place and see my driveway where the car is parked. I measured fence it's at code so no higher. The inspector told me I should run a tarp across the back of my car tent on three sides so that even if I am working on cars you can't see me doing so and they have to prove that I was doing it. I'm over it. It has really sucked all motivation out of me to even do yard work. So I'm going to build a shed behind my garage to move all my tools behind it and move car in garage. Sooner or later that is.

Trust me Buddy it takes all my inner strength not to ring his neck. If it wasn't for my wife and almost 2 yera old I'd be in jail. Also I try to look at it like when I'm done with my ride I'll have a bad ass Kustom and he'll still have a shitty unhappy life.

So a little update LA snuck a little ornance in saying no major automotive repair in residential areas. How do I know because I was fined $356.18 for it. I can fight it which I plan to do. They are supose to have to catch you in the act and when my guy came I had just finished mowing the lawn and was down the street giving my neighbor Ray a hard time for not mowing his. He mows his about once every 3 months and it's just weeds. Anyways douche bag wins I guess but I do plan to appeal it. And I guess I need to find a new hobby. It's a shame that we can't do anything more than minor repair such as change a light or fill up fluids. I called building and safety and they said doing a tune up is pushing it. I'm so over this bullshit. So I guess it's time to thin the herd now that I'm not allowed to work on my cars after the 45 days is up. . So if anyone wants a real 52 Henry J project $2200 cash it comes with everything minus front windows and is super solid. I am so pissed I couldn't sleep last night.

It's now on the "code enforcement" people to prove what you're doing, and for how long. Do they have dated photographic evidence? (besides this thread that I hope they don't find)

I'd venture that you'll have no trouble battling this one, but in my experience once you're on code enforcement's radar it takes years to be forgotten. Even if you did nothing wrong.

Dadsblueford Yes I have a garage it has my next build in it and also all my tools take up the other half. My wife's 51 Chevy. But her car will go very fast as it is in way better shape and is only getting flakes roof and dash and painted flat white. I would love to find a new set of front fenders and refrench the headlights. It has those ugly ass hagan ones in it she had it done before I met her. And I want to do a engine swap too.

    EBW Yes they suck.

Daddio I am not worried about it. I'll just go back to making furniture and really piss them off. I hate hearin the router table and table and milter saws going all day. So I am sure they will love that. Oh and sanders.

I plan to build a rear shed to house my tools and I'll move the shoebox in the garage in there when it's done. I'm so over it.

Yeah I'm with ya. Some of those high RPM things give me a headache instantly! Just make sure its your "hobby" and nothing you make is "for sale". Wink-wink-nudge-nudge. Then run that hobby shop 16 hours a day on the property line you share with said neighbor, windows open on his side!

Have your shop vac exhaust vent pointed at his place with all the saw dust... ha..

Feel for you man... You have the patience of a saint. Hopefully Karma will butt in and get rid of your neighbor.... Or the city... but until then, keep on plugging away.

I have a wife that keeps me in line is what it is. She doesn't ask much of me other than not to go to jail and be a good father. Karma has started going his way a little bit. On Saturday my wife woke me up after I went back to bed after waking up with my son at 5:30am asking if I was running power across the yard for something. I said no why. She said there is a wire across the back yard. Well its my favorite neighbor's phone line. I was nice enough to roll it up and zip tie it out of the way. Phone company comes Monday and asked to get into my yard to fix it. Hmm ahh let me think about it ah nope. They asked why I said go ask the person why. I heard him complaining to someone on his cell phone about it today because they couldn't make me let them into my yard to fix it. So they still have no phone line or dsl. His wife was nice enough for thank me for ruining her day off by powerwashing our house yesterday.

I think you're going to need to get a DVR camera system. Shits gonna hit the fan shortly, and video evidence (preferably with audio) may be your new best friend.

This just continues to escalate, and they're going to break. Cover your ass my friend. Costco has cheap systems with 4 cameras. Protect your family.

  28. Well said Daddio . The camera system may well be the best investment made in a long while .

To be honest Daddio I'm not worried about him hurting me. In Detroit we use to have a saying for guys that talk a mean game but don't act on it. "Fake tough guy or paper tough guy". My wife said she was worried that he might do something but I'm honestly not. He's on record for threating me to the police and to the neighborhood commander. I don't think he is dumb enough to do. And I have been thinking about getting the DVR to record our fence line. I'm so over it. On a good note I might be going back to work very soon. So it would be back to weekends when the Boss and lil Boss are out of town visiting the inlaws.

Molded lake pipes are 99% done and ready for primer. Hood 90% done almost ready for primer. I'll snap pictures of the updates enough with the neighbor drama. Last post about Douche Bag!

You're probably right about him not having the balls to endanger you or your family, but do you trust him while you're away from home? When they move away will he sneak back over for revenge that HE thinks you deserve?

You've proven repeatedly that you'll do the right thing, I just hope he doesn't "cross the line"... not that he hasn't already. If he does it'd be real nice to drop a DVD to the investigating officer. ;)
