Theives are pretty brazen either out of stupidity or knowing that most people wouldn't look twice seeing them, even if they look out of place. My truck was broken into nearly a month ago, at work. It's all seen on video. He broke into my truck while people were leaving work, around 5:30. They guy spent about ten minutes in my truck, trashing it really good. He was in there long enough for a co-worker to walk right past an never notice. After 2k worth of damage, he got an iPod compatible head unit, a tool bag (with tools), a hoodie, and my registation, insurance, and garage door opener. The next day I had an alarm installed in my home and I no longer carry items in my vehicle. Here's the kicker, I can be seen coming out to find his handy work about three minutes after he walks away.
Dont get me wrong as nobody like a thief. But to all you people who want em dead, what about if it was your kid or grandchild that went down the wrong path. Would you rather someone shoot them dead, or give them a chance to pay back thier debt to society and reform thier life? I do believe in ass kicking though.
The issue for the home owner is how you decide if it is a young kid going down the wrong path or a young punk that is already to the end of the path and would just assume kill you than run from you? Sure, it would hurt to find out I killed some poor young kid because he broke into my home in the middle of the night when he thought it was empty and his buddies "geeked" him up to it. It would hurt a lot more to have to bury one of my daughters or wife because the young punk turned out to be a rapist or killer. If they enter my home and I catch them they are DEAD,DEAD,DEAD. If they are in my shop and I catch them the same thing applies. If they try to rob me on the street.... yep, you guessed it, DEAD. I am not a good enough judge to decide who is just a troubled youth and who is a notorious killer so I have to assume the worst.
If you got the mental capacity to rob and steal then you got the capacity to understand most folks have access to firearms. The death of a thief during the comission of a crime is simply an occupational hazzard without the OSHA investigation.
There are consequences for ones actions Sometimes the punishment fits the CRIME, sometimes more, sometimes less... but lets not forget it started with a choice to roll the dice
Thats fair, im just saying what if that young kid or punk was YOUR kid. Would you want other people shooting them in their driveway? Someone comes in your home well thats another thing. We dont live in the middle east ya know.
I hate to hear when this happens. My shop is equipped with good locks, a monitored alarm system and a dvd video security system. I'm hoping I have all the bases covered... .
anyone stupid enough to think they shouldnt be shot for being a thief, deserves to be shot. when the threat out weighs the gain, thats when we start having an America again. those signs on my property are not novelties, when they say beware of owner and a picture of a gun, its not a fuckin joke..that was their heads up, if they are too stupid to wake up to that and decide to go ahead with their plan, they are making a conscious choice to take their own life in their hands. Its time they start taking responsibility for their fuck up's no re-ofenders need apply
Im not challenging you guys. Im just curious if you have the same stance when it comes to your own kin on the wrong end of a gun. If your cool with some one shooting your kid over some ashtray change. Thats fine with me. I personally wont shoot someone for that.
Who cares where you live, where they are killed, or what their circumstances are? The make a concious decision. You didn't choose to enter their life they came to you with the intention to take property or cause harm. I'm sure most folks can empathize with the parents of a wayward kid but I'll save my empathy for my wife and kids that are now shit scared to live in the unsafe house because it was robbed.
Death may be disproportion to small theft but I any parent others children in that circumstance - I do know that my kid is 27 and a good guy - and has never been in that kind of situation - perhaps the bad guys come into it by peer pressure but crime is a dangerous vocation not to be entered into lightly. You play you may pay.
Yes, if my kid didnt pay attention in class and was stupid enough to get himself shot for going against society, then its his cross to bear..I taught him right from wrong..after that its up to him to heed the teachings. I stop chewing their food for them when I see they can manage on their own I dont raise pussies, or people who think the rules dont apply to them My kids know full well what I think about theifs and criminals, and that would apply to them as well, if they decided to become a problem Its tuff today, but you have to stop feeling sorry for them..just refuse to be a victim Most thefts can be avoided..most crimes are of conveinence..made easy by the non alert owner of the property stolen..in other words , didnt take the threat of theft seriously , therfore did nothing to stop it, or make it harder for the theifs

I dont what gives these thieving scumbags the right to think that they can just take things as and when they please , i got home from work 2 weeks ago to find my home had been robbed,,a55holes took a lot off stuff, laptops ,hi-fi camera's, wifes and her grandma's jewellry that was left to her etc etc yeh i'm insured but that only replaces the items not the memories of what the items mean. Sorry man but this is a global problem hope ya get it sorted
Sorry to hear about another break in. I'm agreein with the no re-offender crowd. Its a decision you make when you go on the property uninvited and think their stuff should be yours. As for my kid, that would be a failure on my part for not raisin them right. I realize full well, that isnt in vogue in some places anymore but it is under my roof. Sometimes I wonder if my wife's youngest son will last. That fool dosent have alot of respect or smarts. At 17, probably the normal situation. My garage is mined and when I go on vacation its a death trap. Unfortunatley it will also probably burn too. Something about motion lights and steel wool.
