and oohh i got an joe hunt magneto that i just have to have on this car figuring if i will use my polished e&j's on this car or if that would make the drop that made the car to much, or if i should just settle with some 1934 headlights, think a little bigger headlights just like the 34 ones would be perfect on this car, and use the e&j on my 1928 instead. i will make sure to update you all along the way, want to have this car out this year so alot of stuff to do probally gona work in phases, like i do got the magnesium wheels, but do not got any rear tires i can use, but i do got 15". 7.60 + 15 5.60 wheels in the time being, rather have it out on steelies for one season until i buy new wheels, ahwell lets see how things roll on, main goal is to get it out on the road, the finished look will be metallic paint and plexi windows and chopped, might wait with chop until next year etc.. i just wanna ride it asap, this is the true dream car for me, so darn happy to be able to finally get an car i really can appricate, no car i own or owned before has ever really inspired me like this one does... thanx for the boost guys * nope no spiderweb nor barbwire etc grill treatment, something traditional which does not include an 1932 grill nor 1937 truck grill nor 1933-1934 grill, * tudor & swedester : hell yeah both great inspiration, the chop will probally be inbetween those, a little more chopped then then orange one and laidback windsheild like the green one * tudor : basicly its an manualflywheel with clutch mated to an automatic ******, really efficient basicly you just start the car with the clutch and then you fly everytime the ****** shifts, 53chevy: ventwindow is removed and the whole area is narrowed, and firewall made flat aswell sides of firewall narrowed and smothed to clean looks aswell as make room for headers * ríchard d: well magnesium hilborn for 394 olds rocket, distrubitor driven, all complete to run on engine * primerkid: everything else is worth selling to get this **** on the road ,
I guess you already have some ideas. IMO, it would be cool to see someone use one off of an E83W truck on a '34.
Incase someone doesnt know what chrisman is refering to pretty cool grille there but not what i intend to use though i already have all parts for what i intend to use on my car , just don't want to reveal anything until its bolted on the car, nice to keep some stuff for oneself so there wont be 3 other cars before mine is there that looks like mine...
I once saw one with a Ford 39-40 hood and grille. Maybe it just had a sheet metal grille. But it was damn cool.
Daemon....what you have now plus the chop you described = perfection. Keep us posted! I'll post a pic of a 34 coupe with a Fordson grill as soon as I find the pic.
Found it. This car is from New Zealand and is owned by Bernie Beckett who does some of the finest upholstery work there!
I've got 2 of these grilles - they are very cool as they resemble the 37 pickup grilles but have 2 crank holes! I'm told the engine was offset to one side to allow for foot clearance for the driver so the designers balanced the grille by having 2 crank holes - don't know if it's true or not but the original trucks had one of the shortest engine bays/hoods so it seems to make sense... been some progress on this car actually, more to come pretty soon, hope to have metal work done in a while by the excelent Lars Huber btw, really good craftsman who has helped me with straightening out the very crocked body and doing the chop etc...
Thanx everyone, i am awaiting doorskins from walden to have put on also... here is a before chop pic and some other newer stuff well before chop atleast..
Wow, love what is going on. Looking at what you intend to build and what you already have, could there be some influence from the bluebird coupe?
