Man-just when I thought this build couldn't get any cooler, you go and pop that gas tank in there! Really a swell effort all the way around!

 

making some old style pipe manifolds and cut up some chrome lakes pipes for the sides

Looks great - do the exhaust sweeps run parallel with the draglink? Can't quite tell from the pics but that would tie in nicely...

I think they run on a angle that is very similar. Pretty much just eyeballed it .

Update , Wed AM- I gotta ask- where did the idea to use reversed lakes pipes to a one piece manifold come from?? That is as slick as the hair on a frog's ***, brother!
I've been thinking about it since last night- I'm not a roundy round guy, so don't know if this is an old trick or something YOU cooked up in the laboratory.
Whatever the case, I LOVE IT!!!

 

I'm too cheap to pay for chrome anything so I just used what I could find.

What a cool hot rod, TROG is one of the greatest events in the sport. Love the Chevy hood sides, killer all the way. Best to you at the event.

When I was a kid we use to call those tractor seats " nut crackers". Wear your cup please.

I sure did. I've looked at that picture several times trying to figure out how that car steers. I don't see any drag link .
