that's the plan. i've been the past 2 years, snuck my lowrider in last year good luck on your road trip.
blew the motor on the milltown trip (had a fucking blast!). beat the ever living crap out of it the whole way there & whaddyaknow she started knocking. oh well, totally worth the half hour wait for the tow truck. also bumped into the second new owner of my lowrider at the show. car still looks as clean as when i gave it up but he did add a bunch of cheesey skulls to the door locks & hood ornament! also he moved the bellflower tips to the inside of the quarter panels wtf!?
o shit yaq mean im not the only one who has a knocking motor these days were on the same streak .....at least you did yours on a trip mine started knocking on heavens door in the driveway ...fuckin cars its like my car doesnt want to be re born i swear ..bbc = toasted...
whats your price range??? goin to take parts of a guys nice chevy truck he totalled a couple days ago. i can ask about the motor it ran great..
don't be too sorry, it was just a junkyard 305 afterall that really sucks man! haha like $200... i'm pretty sure i'm gonna use the 350 that came in our nova for now. i've got richies old 283 shortblock from his impala that i wanna go through but i'm short on the time and funds (as usual).
gotta love the small block chevy! got a replacement motor for the whopping total of 340 bux! i'm a big fan of this motor too, it was in our s-10. 305, maybe 2000 miles on it since a rebuild, has a way too big cam, gnarly idle, new valvesprings, noisey timing gears, makes no power down low, but is a fuckin blast to rip on between 3000-5500. should be a fun lil motor in my car.
haha i'm sure one day i'll tire of swapping small blocks & put together something nice, but until then... thrash away i say!
ripped the motor out today while i was swapping all the parts over from the old junk to the new junk my buddy recessed the firewal for me so i can get my distributor in & out without having to take my upper intake on & off. i didn't bother to take one of it done & ground smooth cuz no one will ever see it anyways! oh well thanks matty, excellent work as usual! new motors in gotta button it up tomorrow. i'm tired.
How far back is your engine? I moved mine back 1 1/4" and I have no problem with dist. R&R. It cant be much or none at all if those are Hooker Super Comp Headers. Just took another look at headers and they look like eb## specials.
they are ebay specials, & for the $ they can't be beat! the guy builds them in his garage in his spare time, excellent workmanship!
I have looked at them many times. Since your engine is in the stock location. I would like to know how much clearance there is between the headers and the firewall at its tightest points. Both left & right side. Thanks Johnny
i can fit 3 fingers between the headers & the firewall. the closest point is on the driver's side where the parking brake cable mounts, but even there is still about a half inch away. clears the steering box & all linkage no problem. another thing i like about them is they are symetrical, alot of fenderwell headers for these cars aren't. a small detail, but it def adds to a cleaner look. they follow the curve of the wheelwell nice too. like i said, can't beat them for the money.
Are you refering to the firewall or the bracket for the roller? As the bracket is proud of the the firewall.
