spent today adding a tool tray to the radiator support. by that i mean i relocated the battery to the trunk. i couldn't ditch the tray though cuz it's just too perfect to hold tools while wrenching. i also ran a battery cut-off switch & made a nice lil plate to mount it to the back bumper. also did a lil front end work too, new idler arm bushings & outer tie-rod end. front & is finally like new again...only took me 22 months. any of my regular guys on here have an old eelco/moon tank they'd like to see fill the empty space in grill send me a p.m. please & thank you!
Dunno if i would look right. Hopefully under that green plastic thing it is the same as the bottom for symmetry. Although I know you would rather have a real tank...
no shame in my game, here's another pic of the quarter panel i "ruined". hey, next guy that owns this thing; there's some bondo in there.
that "ruined" 1/4 looks dymn good to me if u saved what u cut off u might be able to sell it to the next guy too lmao keep it up
i swapped out my $60 cheap peice of crap flea-bay distributor for a brandy new petronix flame thrower II. the el-cheap-o distributor was breaking up at the top end kinda randomly, the timing curve sucked & wasn't adjustable. on a side note we bought one awhile back for my boss' nova & it never worked right out of the box. not too confidence inspiring on long trips. anyways, the new distributor is great. car pulls through the r's better than ever. i'm stoked & the car's all set to return to milltown for it's second time. see you there!
lookin forward to the alter boys show this saturday, the road rebels buffet at the Lokai saturday nite, & to rippin off a blistering (i'm actually just hoping it runs in the 14s) pass at the cam snappers's old fashioned sunday at new england dragway this weekend.
yeah they have a "sock hop" at the Lo Kai in dracut, i think it's $10 for the buffet & they have a dj. i went last year & it was a pretty fun time & a great buffet. 7-12 tomorrow nite. nah, i blew that up going to milltown 4. now it's a re-man 305 with a gear drive, summit .520 lift cam, & z28 valvesprings. it goes alright.
Hey man, I remember seeing this car in Exeter a few months ago. One of my favorites at the show, honest! Great reference for my build. Keep it up!
Great build thread! I started one a about 4 years ago on my car on another website. This one makes me still want to document my build that happened 5 years ago. Kid
Love it man. Im in the process of getting a 55 myself to build a gasser style 55 out of. Looks great though
Why don't you bring this thing up to winterport dragway and give it a proper beating, The next race is October 8th, last one of the season.
the 7 hour round trip is kinda a hike for me. i wanted to get it up to new england dragway (40 minute ride) this year, but it's just not in the budget.
