People are funny, aren't they? If he's that attached to it, why'd he get rid of it? Like most of the folks here, I love your build! You've taken that car a long way in a short time.
tell him to give you 3 times what you paid for it and youll give it back so he can fix what you have ruined ...if he is so worried
hey hey hey, I never said anything about ruining anything. I said: if it was me I wouldnt have chopped the rear fenders, BUT thats just my personal OPINION. the car is bitchin, and I think you did an awesome job ...if I didnt like the gassers I wouldnt be putting a straight axle in my chevy II. besides you cant ruin a 55 chevy, cuz ITS A 55 CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!! (unless you put 20" Chip Foose wheels on it and an LT-1 engine in it or something) If I wanted a 55 chevy I wouldnt have traded ya. oh and I wouldnt be listening to ppl who's hotrod is an 80's Oldsmobile either... they cant be trusted LOL
Gotta love when the record gets straightened out around here. To each his own and the car is out on the road and the new owner enjoys it. Another car given a new life.-Weeks
what an awesome build!!!! especially the low buck way to do it too!!! (really sorry that T-10 wouldnt work for you - or me!) I hope to see this thing ripping around
Yeah I saw the front suspension off. Is he doing a disc brake upgrade or changing the whole thing?? I sold that 40 plymouth for $6000 so I won't have anything ready this year. I just bought that 62 and I just picked up what I thought was a 327 but ended up being a 283. So now I still have to find a motor. I gotta list the 283 for sale now it is a 62-64 engine though incase you know anyone out your way looking for a numbers correct engine.....3789817 block I think its a 62, has L1861 as the date ID code. And T0223D as engine ID.
we did a solid axle swap on the nova, and we got more small blocks than we know what to do with at the moment.
"WOOOO! GASSER! i gotta check my watch, is this 1962?"- guy pushing his out of gas harley at a stoplight today.
looks sweet ....hey what did you do with all the front end sheet metal from your 55 since ya using the glass nose
long gone, i sold the whole front clip minus the radiator suport for $850.00 as soon as i got the car to help fund the rest of the build. i picked up the glass nose with headlight buckets for 2 hundo.
swapped the motor out of my friends 64 impala this weekend & received a good 283 short block as payment. the motor had a bad valve. so we'll see what happens with this when parts (& $) become available. i already have a set of 305 h.o. heads for it. i've always wanted to build one of these motors. i really like the idea of 8 grand shift points... also got a lead on a muncie for short $, hope it pans out.
haha thanks man. now that i've got the motor & the 1 in the car runs mint i can really take my time & put together a nice lil screamer. the thought of a compression heavy, "too much cam for the street" having, tunnel rammed small block is something to look forward to next year. the thought of laying out the dough for things like pistons, cams, flywheels, scatter shields, machine work?, the right timing cover, the right oil pan, all the little details i know i realyyyy want, also make it something to look forward to next year.
old wheels look new again, i'm thinking she absolutely needs baby moons now. oh yeah those rears are actually white letter tires (they've been neglected for the past decade) that will soon be white wall tires
picked up some ball joint spacers dirt cheap today. gonna add some spring spacers as well as install some new wheel bearings & front shoes. also got a saginaw 4 speed & rebuilt hurst shifter too. plan on banging it all out this weekend.
