Well said,Denise. Too many people, are so concerned about their "perceived image" that they miss the point completely. What a fitting tribute to a talented young man.
VERY FITTING It is only proper to dress the one being honored at a ceremony correctly and be fitted in a ride as sweet as the one you and the guys built. He sounded like a very outstanding guy and from the story, he liked his rides!!! I have only three kids (14,7,and6 years old) and can not even fathom the way you and you family have felt! It should help to know, that was a grand way to send him off!! Your family will be in our prayers!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for your families loss. Everyone should be surrounded by things that made them happy. As far as the above quote, I can't believe there are such rude and dickheaded people in this world.
My heart goes out to you. Josh would be so proud. Hot rodding was obviously in his blood. I lost my 32 year old son last year. He didn't have my obsession with hot rods but we followed his cremation wishes as he wanted. They say time heals....but I don't think so....
I've been sitting here for a bit now trying to figure out what to say..... Having lost two loved ones this year my emotions are just so flooded.. Just continue to honor your boy and cherish your memories.... The car and casket are kick ass...
Man, I'm so sorry for your loss......But, you did him right. I hope someone does that for me. I've told my son I want a shifter with one of my kustom knobs on it sticking up in the casket! I almost lost my youngest daughter in a horrible car crash last January. Back broken in 3 places, lacerated liver, 6 broken ribs, dislocated hip, tons of contusions and abrasions.....She has a 3 yr. old daughter, and we thank God every day she is still alive. My heart goes out to you and your family. Keep the faith, and keep the hotrodding alive and it will keep you going!
I don't know I would handle something like this. A flamed casket might help some. Stay strong. As my frend sayed on his death bed, I hope thay have hot rods in heaven.
Some people should know when to not let there alligator mouth over run their paper weight ass.....Uncle Ratster I miss him too...RIP Josh and Aunt Arleen....
that looks great,i think he would have been proud of it. as far as the one guy who had something rude to say, who cares what other people think about it? it's your last ride, so it should be something that reminds people of who you were and what you loved. i need to check into this myself, only thing that would have made it even better was if that casket had gotten to ride in the back of a custom rod hearse. one of my friends was buried last year in a bass themed casket, carved wooden bass in the handles, bass sewed into the inside, fishing poles at the service and a "gone fishing" sign hanging over it. some people were offended, but those who knew him thought it was a great tribute. thank you for not bowing to tradition, and instead doing something he would have loved. would have liked to have met him.
