Looking good. I think that top will look great with the blue.

WOW! Sunliner is looking sharp. I like the desoto grille and also think the color combo is great. After color sanding and polishing that color should really pop in the sun. Nice work.

Thanks for posting these photos of your great project! I just ran into this thread for the first time. I am doing a 54 Sunliner too. I did the interior and drive train first, next winter we will do the body. When i found it there was a tired 6 in it! Mine is a 302 now but I like Chevys as well, have a 56 Belair finished. Love your colors! Hope mine turns out as nice.

Question, what year was it originally? I see you had a 52-53 dash but now have a 54 dash in it.

Looks damn good! I gotta say I'm a bit envious too. I can't wait until I get to this stage with my mordor. I have a fondness for that color as well. I've used it on a couple of cars.

JohnSunliner, It would be great to see some pictures of your project. In answer to your question, I'm not entirely sure what year it is. It had 53 trim holes in the body. I was told it was a 53, but it was ***led wrong when it was brought out from Califonia. (I ***umed someone in the ***le office did a typo) It did have all the 53 parts, flathead, kingpin style front end, and of course the waterfall dash.
I had looked for years for a 54 because that is what was in our famliy when I was a kid. I was supposed to get it when I got my license, but before that happened, my cousin wrecked it.
It is very hard to find decent car bodies in this neck of the woods so I settled for a 53. Thats when I found there were a lot more differences in the 53's and 54's than I thought. Front fenders, suspension, engine, dash, core support...and lots of other stuff. But, it's starting to come together nicely. Thanks everyone for the compliments. I color sanded today, tomorrow is buffing.......Coop

Here's the car with most of the trim. Still waiting for the rear bumper. I'll put the interior back in and I should have the bumper on next week. The shadows were kind of long for pictures this evening, I'll get a few more when the lights a little better.
