This is just my observations from Fridays event so don't flame me to bad. I did not see any tuner type cars, jumping cars, donks nor did I see/hear any boom box bs. I didn't notice a major change in the age group. I did see some 50's & 60's Corvettes but with no late models which is unusual. Also, though there were Chevelles, Camaros, Mustangs & tri 5 Chevys and one Volkswagen, it didn't turn out to be a street machine/muscle car event. Yes I know I was only there Friday, but my personal read was that without the post '48 cars, attendance would have been disastrous.
Much the same on Saturday. Lots of cars, most of them really nice. Fewer rat rods, a fair number of muscel cars and lots of people. Overall, I would say it was a pretty good show.
We've had the expanded year event here in Florida for a few years now. It has not been a problem. The addition of the customs, and g***ers, etc. is cool, and the muscle cars that do show up are nice as well...cool Max Wedge cars and all... There are very few rat rods, and we always have a good time. Look at it this way...If you have the later year cars allowed at your NSRA event, it is probably because your event was in danger of not making enough money to continue having it in at the current year cut-off....so it comes down to what would you rather have....a few later muscle cars and VW's...or no event at all?
I live in OKC, and haven't been to the show in 4 years, but went out today and really enjoyed it. It's a good change.
yeah it was a good weekend, good weather, and yes there was no pacers or citations lol but maybe next year i will have my pacer ready lol
