WHAT a positive post on a shop....wait til i get another glass of burbon.....

It is really nice to see positive vibe towards others, i have had a car built for me and now am attempting building my own.... does it matter who builds it as long as you live it and enjoy it?

Kudos to the Limeworks crew for what seems to be a class act in providing a fellow hot rodder with a car for his family to enjoy.....

  2. Hemirod ... Your Deuce Fordor is looking good! ... great choice in powerplants! :D

What are your (or Limey Steve's) plans for "quieting" the new headers? ... I noticed that the Zoomies had baffles in them ... will the Lakes pipes have some type of baffle or muffler in the collector? ... or will the Limeworks Speed Shop crew be adding a block-off and running the exhaust under the car, through some mufflers, and out the back?

I'm home now & am truly humbled by what Wade & the rest of you that know me & what we do at LimeWorks are saying on here. As is pretty obvious I am a Hot Rodder 1st & treat the shop as such, it's about doing the best we can to build what is in the imagination of a fellow Hot Rodder. I strive to create that dream in a fun & friendly atmosphere , To be blessed with the caliber of customer that we have is amazing , most times we become friends & have fun together before, during & after the build. Be it dialing in a finished Rod, changing a bought Rod , or building a Rod from scratch we have fun with the car & the owner. I know as much as the next guy this is a commitment of both a lot of time & a lot of money so we take it seriously, that doesn't mean you can't have fun though. Once again thanks for this spontaneous show of appreciation it is not taken lightly.

Wade , the check is in the mail :)

Limeworks got me out of a jamb today. My 32 needed some last minute attention before Santa Maria. Steve and his crew stepped to the plate and helped me out. They are super folks.

As far as the "quieting project"
We are going to for starters, add on to the lake pipes and build a muffler into it. AKA side pipes. Really who knows where we will end up. Thanks for the comments!:)

OK, now from a different perspective. Before I ever heard of jalopyjournal, I sold vintage car parts on eBay. Limeworks bought parts from me several times (usually early Ford V-8 parts) and as customers of mine, they were fantastic as well. It was never big stuff, certainly not any high dollar dealings, but they were quick to pay, communicated well, and took the time to thank me after their parts were received.

I predict they'll be around for a long, long time to come.

    Cool car.

Ironic sig line for "That guy with a coupe" - what a moron.

  24. last August I pitched up at Limeworks with She who must be obeyed, Ace cameraman Jasper stinkybum and a couple of cameras to do some filming......it was a very inconvenient time (sumat to do with time slots and disposal of oil and stuff)......Steve, a bloke I had never met before in my life allowed us full access to the workshop and front of house.....totally on our own while he went off to do stuff he needed to...
he then gave us a good couple of hours to chat, film, get interviews with him and Craig and then made tea with good dunking biscuits......a nice place to go as well as a place that does great work....

and as far as better to build a rod goes.....

it's better to have a rod than not.....built or bought it don't matter!

I first met Steve more than 20 years ago when he referred me to his Immigration Lawyer. We worked together on Jay Storers Bonneville car that I ended up being the Crew Chief and Janitor for.In my days in SoCal Steve and Carol made me feel like a member of the family. That is true to this day. If I could model my own small one man Shop on the business/enthusiast model of any current shop, the Limeworks team would be at the top of the list. In spite of CraigR working there......

Steve and the crew at Limeworks are a great bunch of guys. I have been into cars for many years before I started to build my first hot rod. I have dealt with a lot of shops in the past and Steve is about the only one that treats every one well and with a huge amount of respect. I have seen shop a number of shop owners who only talk to the people spending lots of money. Steve is not like that. He has always been available and willing to answer questions and offer advice. If I could ever afford to have a car built, I see choose Limeworks. Just because I trust Steve so much, I would even let CraigR work on it.!!:p While I love to build my own cars it would be real nice to have a car that looks as perfect as Steve builds them.

The best thing about Steve is, besides Kona, he is an equal opportunity employer. He has finally hired some one without an accent. :D:D

I would like to thank Steve and CraigR for the help and guidance through the last 5 years that I have known them.

Steve, your are a great guy keep up the great work.
