My coolant hose popped on me today. Well I was in the middle of laying a bead, so I taped it up and kept going. The tape wont last forever so I need to buy a new torch. What do you guys recommend. It was a Weld Craft and I think thats what I want to get again. Has any one used on of those flex type torches?

I didn't know you could just replace the hoses. Did you just get them from consolidated or one of the other welding suppliers here in town?

Yes sir just get some hose and rock on

  7. If it's not too close to one end or the other, you could patch it with some stainless brake line and a couple of hose clamps.

When I got my machine from the auction, one the hoses got pinched while loading the machine and it put a hole in it. It's a Weldcraft torch, (wp-20??? ) if I remember correctly. I bought a new set of hoses and cover for it at the local welding supply. I bought the 25 ft hose set. Let's me maneuver all over the garage since the machine, Miller Synchrowave 250 is pretty unmaneuverable. I still have an occasional leak at the point where the plastic hose slips over the torch copper line. The little twist wire doesn't hold that good of a
seal . It happens mostly when the hoses are cold and there is an acute angle created by the hoses hanging from the angled torch.

Yep, this just happened to me. For a 25' water cooled torch the power cable runs about $60 and the gas and water return run about $30. My local welding supply store also reminded me to check and make sure there wasn't any discoloration in the head of the torch....this would indiate that it overheated and you need a new one.

    TIG ON!!:)

Great I'm not the only one who's welder bit the dust on a 4 day weekend, Now I don't feel so bad. My switck on the Miller 135 bit the dust at MetalMeet a couple weeks ago. Got a new switch it lasted seconds on Saturday.
