As we all know, Mr. Watson was laid to rest today. I would've really liked to have been there to pay my final respects, but California's a long way from Edgewater, Colorado. So, I put together my own tribute using pictures I collected here on the HAMB. I hope nobody minds if I used your pictures. Just giving back a little to the man who gave us all so much. For Larry...................E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ9SpsYyBS4
By blocked, he means: Youtube blocked it. "This video contains content from WMG and Sony Music Entertainment, one or more of whom have blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. "
I built my first kustom, a 50 Chevy sedan and drove to California and was very suprised to see Larry Watson pull into a wharehouse in Norco. By pure luck, I followed him to a little shop where he was storing old pictures and videos. I introduced myself and asked him if he would autograph my dash. He checked out my car and as he did he picked up a very old can of 1 shot. It took him about 20 minutes to stir it up till it was usable but then he striped my dash and capped it with his autograph. This was 1994 .WOW!!!!! I have called him friend since then. Big Rch
Ok, it took a few days, but I think it will work now. Had to change up some stuff, but it should play.........E
Yeah, I had some reservations about including those, but since so much hard work went into painting it, and it was followed here so much, I decided to include them. I hope it doesn't creep out or offend anyone.............E
Not at all. I think it was a wonderful gesture from a group of folks who loved, respected and admired Larry Watson. They sent him out in style!
Really cool vid. The coffin they painted for Watson was amazing. I'm truly bummed he's no longer with us.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! You win! Yes, it is Los Straightjackets. Sorry, those are the only pics I found of Larry's coffin. Here's the link...................... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=494545&highlight=larry+watson&page=22 Yeah, don't care for C.D. at all, but I think the Los Straightjackets' version is pretty good. I used it because it didn't get flagged by the copyright sensors, and it was about the right length for all the pictures I wanted to use. Thanks for all the positive response to this. E
