Funny story. I had given up on this car. No one knew about it because the guys father owned it and went kinda off the deep end. He put it in the shed and then reported it stolen years ago!! everyone thought it was gone! No one lived on the farm and it just sat. I've been trying to buy it for years but the mother would not sell it. Said her grandson was going to fix it up. Well, tonight the son calls and says the grandson looked at it and doesn't want to tackle it no way! I was really surprised when he called tonight.
Ghost, in my younger days I have owned four or five 55's a couple 56's and a couple 57's. hard times always made me sell them, or family, kids, well you know the drill. Not this one, the kids are gone, It's MINE, ALL MINE FOREVER!! MUAHAAAAAAAA. Sorry.
I'm gonna take pics when I open the door to the shed and when it's outside and dirty. Then when it's on the trailer and when I get it home and wash it. It's not a peach, but it's all there.
I could handle the ****s,, last one I found was home for a skunk. Not to bad once you get past the smell, am I repeating myself?
LOL. This one has mice also. I opened the door years ago and shut it quickly. Coveralls, mask, hose tear the seats out, headliner, floor drains, wash her out, thats the plan, then take her apart, media blast all of it! I hate meeces to pieces.
I'm happy for you, man. Great story, great find! One should always drive a car the same age as he is!
Ok, ya got me. I can't wait to get it out in the daylight and see what we got. I was pretty down and out the other day. I saw one advertised for sale, it was just a bare body with no fenders, gl*** nothing, no engine, stripped pretty well. I called the guy, he wanted $2,000. I said, ok, I'll get a trailer and come get it. He said ok, when you get close let me know and I'll give you directions to the house. It was 50 mi from me. OK. I am hooking up the trailer and ready to go. he had told me I was the first to call. He calls me back and says, I just sold the car. I said..WHAT? Yeah, a guy just walked up and gave me $2,000. I said, thanks buddy. I'd just like to say though, we don't do people that way where I'm from. Couldn't you wait an hour for me to come up and tell the guy, hey, if I didn't want it he could have it? I was pretty bummed. But now I'm glad the guy did that to me. Things happen for a reason. The Good Lord was looking out for me. .......still. Lippy
I think I recognize that dust. Looks like the same dust that covered my great grandpappy's 57 Studebaker wagon. From one 54 year old Kansas boy to another, Good job. You just never know what's lurking in on of them barns or machine sheds.
Hi Seesko! No you don't know anymore. People are cleaning up the farms, but you see the cars are gone. But most of the time they move them into a shed or barn so people will quit bugging them about them or so they don't get stolen or vandalized. I went to one of the last farm sales around here close the other day that had lots of old cars, they use to be everywhere. Fewer and fewer farms full of old cars. Lippy
LIPPY........if you died right now the undertaker would charge EXTRA to get the GRIN OFF YOUR FACE! i'm PROUD of you..........like the bible sez seek and ye shall find! red ryder
