My ugly '55 Chevy 4-door with Patina

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by So-cal Tex, Dec 6, 2007.

  1. From behind the wheel, who cares how many doors it has. I drove one for several years and had a blast, drove all over the place in it.

Ah, You did detect my sarcasism.

I think we would all love to have a two door or hard top, but these cars are cheap and are still fun. I bought this one in a field and did 100% of the work byself, 350/350 swap and brakes. I have great car on the cheap.

The difference between a survivor car and a painted is I will be driving mine while the other guy is saving money or block sanding.

Yes, I do like some four doors and I love SURVIVORS or cars with natural patina. I just was getting feld up with some of the Elitist BS on here about "just paint it" or hurry up and seal that surface rust.

It is only original once and this car has zero bondo or hidden shody body work.

I guess the moral is build what you like and can afford.

Any more cheap bastards driving beater 4-doors?

The only advice I can give is love the car you got, treat it well and one day if you cannot bare to have a four door and must sell it, it'll be worth a whole lot more :D

That thing's cool as hell. Maybe not Geronimo's Cadillac, but sure could be his driver!

Looks right perfect on the ranch there

here is how your car could look when done, this car is beautiful, 4door or not!
if you have friends, or a family, and like to cruise the four doors are more practical.

Some may think that old four doors with a patina aren't cool. Well friend. Brand new SUVs aren't cool either.

I like your four door. Like somebody said. Take good care of car...and maybe one day the karmic car gods will see fit to help get you that dream car. You are keeping one more old car on the road and one less in the scrap yard. Nice work.

  21. Wow man you need to get some self confidence. or maybe some deinal, either way.

For me I first got a 4-door that ran great, then those extra doors just made me determined to get my 2-door dream vehicle, and it was a total piece but im still proud to have it and someday it will be amazing. I'm workin hard for that 2 door, but the driver 4 door helps keep me motivated for my Real pride project.

Slam it and drive the hell out of it just like it is. It's perfect!
