This is an amazing legacy your family has, thanks for sharing it. It's great to see the names of these pioneers and photos from their days. What would you give for a time machine so you could go back to see and hear these guys and their cars and hang out with them.

The over head shot shows the column shift - which should still be hooked up to a LaSalle transmission.... street roadster over head.jpg

It is easily readable and looking forward to being able to finish reading the story! Edit: And it was being posted as I was posting my comment. I am certainly enjoying following along the sharing of your uncle's story!

I like the story about welding up the holey piston while still in the engine.

Sorry for the delay - about Don's 1932 roadster - the first 195 A/H fuel roadster. About all the uncle had said was - it was a pretty nice 32 roadster that they put together - for them to go racing with. Remember 32 roadsters broght a pretty penny over an A roadster - still do. The GMC six should have been the first race car but I have no pictures of that. Here's the first 195A/H running the uncle's first injected Hemi....maybe at Lodi or Fremont. first 195ah good_0001.jpg first 195ah good_0002.jpg

There was one picture that's not really good of the front of the street roadster - that had that "Special" on the grille you don't see much of....most likely off a Buick. roadster front with special.jpg

Wanted to give a shout out to my Aunt Betty Annette....who my uncle met by chance as she was over here visiting relatives - on a holiday - from England. Here with my uncle's first new car they dated in....an El Camino.....and with his first Vette they bought. At this time he shared the 195 A/H fuel roadster, still had his old Street (BVille) roadster, the El Camino and the new Vette....he was in need of garage space so the street roadster ended up back at his old bachelor pad - garage apartment - where it had been most of the late 50's early 60's.
It was my Aunt Betty Annette that got the uncle to pull out these old pictures ! Aunt B A with El Cam.jpg Aunt BA with 1st Vette.jpg

Have some more color pictures of the second purpose built - the uncle pretty much built up the frame, motor, body and was most proud I could tell....of the roll cage he built. The photo is in front or actually the back alley of the last shop my pops and he had - the early pictures are of the same place....the door to the left. And one from the strip... 195 AH pops shop 1.jpg 195 AH pops shop 2.jpg 195 AH Don going to the line.jpg
