Well this summer has been a crazy one for me, Ive done a ton of traveling, Marcy from texas does alot of car delivery and have gotten to be pretty good freinds with her and shes been talking to me about going on a couple road trips with her as driver and booth worker etc etc, so ive gone of 2 road trips with her up to the Spokane and Tacoma areas do deliver some cars and pick up some cars and deliver some event shirts and vend at a couple of shows, billetproof washington and hot rod o rama, well we did those to roadtrips and had a great time.

Well it was time for another one, the big one, so she flew me to dallas, she picked me up, then we headed to Arkansas to pick up a car and we brought that to Blaine Washington (canadian us boarder town) then headed over to a junkyard in mid washington to pick up a car, then we headed to Spokane to hang out with the Inland Emperors (trouble), after that we headed to Sacramento to relax for a few days and stay with friends (thanks Allen and Melisa) and visit a few shops, we visited with Socal Sacramento & Sacramento vintage ford and looked at some cool stuff and bought a few nick nacks. after that we headed down to Antioch CA and brought the show shirts for Billetproof and vended at the event, then came sunday.

Low and behold a 34 pheaton in the swap, and it was priced reasonable, so it had to be boughten, I didnt have the $$ but Marcy ended up making the purchase so technically she owns it but ill be getting some $$ rounded up to pay her back for it (thanks Marcy!)

So sunday ends and we load up the pheaton and pack everything else in the trailor (tight fit now) we head out to Utah and meet up with a Fellow hamber (Neff Boys) and i bought a couple of pieces of speed equipment from him, thanks Allan, after that we make the treck to Albuquerque to meet up with another hamber that had some parts for Marcy, after that we headed to Amarillo Tx to pic up some parts that need to make their way to Austin and we finally headed back to Marcy home base of Giddings TX and got to relax for a couple of days, then we left for Houston to pick up a car and brought that back to Hot Rod Ch***is in chicago and finally we headed up with the pheaton back to good ole MN. Oh and the 7700 mile we racked up was in a 2 week time frame, tons of driving and im tired, and not to mention when we got back home we had our party to host on Sunday!

SO back to the important part, the Pheaton, it looks to be a Austrailian built pheaton, i dont know much about em yet but i will learn, a few things i know is that the door hinges are different, and so is the little filler piece below the rockers, and off course one was right hand drive. the car came with a partiall street rodded frame and i had to relive it self of the Jag rear end before she got to depressed but i think shes in a better mood now! the sheetmetal is in great shape, the wood will need replacing (metal probably) but over all its in great shape.

i kinda have some ideas in my head about the build but im keeping those to a minimum till i get Marcy paid for the car!

but plans will be flathead, and blackwalls and black wheels, and no mods to the body etc etc, you know the type of build!

Sorry if the read was a little dry, im still recovering from the trip!

I cant wait either, but its gonna have too.

I have to do some parts collecting for it too, i have a line on a decent grille, i also am looking for some center x frame chunks if anyone has any, these are cut out a little in the center and id like to put it back to stock, i am also looking for some w.s posts and a dashboard too, and some front inner fenders. other than that:)

Nice work man! I met you at Billetproof WA.

Marcy is a top notch gal, she and I always have a few things to talk about. Too bad I didn't know you guys were in Blaine, you would have p***ed right by my place on I5 on the way up there.

Sounds like a cool trip, and definately an awesome score!

Hudsomcustom, i remember ya, seen ya at Hot rod o rama too.

Big al, thanks for the pics, i seen the mint green one at billetproof washington, which must be a US made body, and the red one looks to be an Australian unit, main differences ive found were the hinger pillar and the little filler below the rockers, ive seen some pics of roadsters with and with out the filler panel too.

  13. What a great road trip. Great post. Definitely beats my 2,500 mile roadtrip

Jeff, all Australian '33-'34 bodies had the spear (filler panel) between the body & frame. A common modification down here is to modify the lower body to the US style.

  19. Nice Score! It was great to catch up with Marcy and yourself at breakfast before you two left town for Billetproof. I absolutely love '34 Phaetons but the best part your new purchase is now I can terrorize you with those '34 inner fender panels you saw sitting in the garage.:D
