I super love that black and gold bike. =] I think it all boils down to a matter of priority.......... Replace the worn axle bearings no one will ever see or talk about OR create the "wickedest" most "insane" looking car at the show and stroke your ego. If I were a young male with a fragile ego, instead of the bitter ol ***** that I truly am, I'd prolly go for the asthetics as well.
Good call, but I guess I'd rather have people who know what they're looking at appreciate what I built, rather than just being happy with any jack*** on the street pointing as I drove by. You could get that same result with a horses *** tattoed over your whole face. I think we should point these guys in that direction instead. They'd be easier to spot.
I can't agree more with the "RAT ROD" **** that is showing up at shows now because of the fad. at the Round Up, I saw a car with aircleaners that were cans of corn pulled from the trash after last night's dinner, and the tail lights were tuna fish cans. They made sure that the labels on all the cans stayed in tact so you could tell that it was garbage. Come on.......
let the **** stuff be. thats what sets the actual good stuff from the others. the traditional hot rod scene has 2 genres that the general public doesnt see. the Ratty **** w/ skulls, rats, and iron crosses etc., then the well hand built rods the old fashion way w/o billet and junk silk hawaiian shirts. i like this truck. its clean but im getting over the flat black and red thing:
I looked that Roadster Pick-Up over pretty good and it is a very well put together ride. Just lose the Kenworth Pipes and the Clown tire/wheel combo on the back and you would have something very worthy. Hot Rods seemed to be lower in number that ususal, but I might have been confused by the fact that there were more '49-'54 Chevys than have ever been ***embled in one place before. Overall we had a great time a Viva, and there were some great cars there. Mikes Deuce Tudor from Phoenix is very cool and there were a few Model A Tudors that were very well done indeed.
Great photos Dave, thanks for sharing! Glad you and Ginger had a fun time at VLV and made it home safe. were just chillen here trying to catch up on our sleep at night and thanks for coming by the other night. blessings
I too have been pondering whether that thing runs or not. I remember seeing it in a magazine awhile back and wondering what the overall intent was. It looks like a huge child's toy. A whole bunch of stuff that doesn't quite work together. Just my .02 worth.
I'm wondering who's building these cartoon cars? I don't think it's anyone on here, so who is it? I have a feeling they might be rich kids who are woefully out of touch with reality. I'd really like to know.
Great pics. I'm almost afraid to ask this now, but did you get a clean shot of the Purple People Eater? I love that car, but I agree with most of the people here about the ugly over-the-top trash.
I was at the show at 7.30am until the crazy crowds started rolling in round 10.30, then I put the camera away....
i know what yer sayin i was there and i walked through the show in 20 minutes and didnt even really take any pics of cars till all the little ********ers and dumb ****s left the show i took more pics on sunday but ill stick with another car show than this one too bad all the other car builders had to be there with them
Kirk! is your chin strap on to tight? Com'on, aleast they drove them there, right???? I guess it makes you appreicate the good stuff that's out there. Anyways, nice pics and thanks for sharing. On the other hand, most pics from this show didn't seem too bad, saw some nicely in-progress customs. Ken
DAVE, What the hell is this shot? "Oh but Ginger, I really liked that guys white t-shirt". No posing pictures of them? Dave be a man and flash them your credentials. NO NOT THAT CREDENTIAL!!!!! Brian
And last but not least, my favorite car of the show....Had to wait till Sunday to get these... Yeah, its got a see through firewall! Its all in the details Piston Pushers Car Club...very cool

I disagree, the stuff with skulls, rats and iron crosses are not "traditional rods".Traditional would mean that they were built that way in the past.
Yup....apart from my Koppak delivered Jaffa cakes being a little melted, we had a ball!! Got to meet him, Artiki, Will the Scottish Swiss fella (can't remember his wife's name) Kev Elliot, and load's of others whose names escape me...(I drank a lot, and we didn't sleep at all Sunday night)
